🎈CHAPTER 2🎈
°•°Vanessa's POV°•°
The boys were emptying their backpacks in the garbage can outside of school. "Best feeling ever!" Stan says in relief. Richie looks at Stan, "Yeah, try tickling your pickle for the first time." The Tozier boy says, he really had no filter.
"Hey, what do you guys wanna do tomorrow?" Eddie asks, from the corner of my eye,I could see he was staring at me, my cheeks turned red, as I look away from his stare. "I start my training." Richie points out. "Wait, what training?" Ed asks, just as confused as I was. "Street fighter." Richie says, all of us only stared at him in disbelieve. "Is that how you wanna spend your summer? Inside of an arcade?" Eddie asks the question, we all were wondering.
"Beats spending it inside your mother, oh."
Richie was waiting for a high five from Stan, but the boy just puts his arm down. I had to give Stan a pat on the back, he's probably the only one, that was most patient, with Richie and his dirty jokes. "What if we go to the quarry?" Stan suggests, "Guys, we promised Bill we'd be going to the barrens." I says, reminding them, of what was discussed a few days ago.
"Right."
Eddie's attention was on something else, I followed his eye sight to see what he was looking at. "Betty Ripsom's mom." He says not looking away. "Is she really expecting to see her come out of that school?" Stanley asks, also staring at the woman, who was staring up at the school building. "I don't know, as if Betty Ripsom's been hiding in Home Ec for the last few weeks." Eddie says, I nod my head in agreement to what he has said.
Ever since Bill's little brother Georgie went missing, a lot of children started going missing in Derry, which isn't normal. "You think they'll actually find her?" Stanley asks curiously.
"Sure, in a ditch. All decomposed covered in worms and maggots. Smelling like Eddie's mom's underwear." Richie states, it's times like these, I really wanted to beat him to a pulp. "Shut up! That's freaking disgusting!" Eddie says to the Tozier boy.
"You literally have no respect, do you?" I ask him annoyed. Bill spoke up, saving Richie from a beating, "She's not dead, s-s-she's missing." He states seriously. "Sorry, Bill. She's missing." Richie corrects his previous statement.
"You know the barrens aren't that bad, who doesn't love splashing around in shitty water?" Richie asks, as we started walking away. "No one does, it's unsanitary." I say glaring at him.
Richie was suddenly thrown into Stanley, both falling to the ground, and it just had to be Henry and his goons coming to hurt my friends. Belch burps in Eddie's face making the boy want to throw up. I wished sometimes I was a little stronger, then I would be able to protect Eddie from this diseased world. Henry bumps into Bill as he passed him.
"Loser."
"Y-you suck, Bowers." Bill says, I was proud of my friend sticking up for himself, even if it could get him into a lot of trouble. "Shut up, Bill." Eddie mumbles to our stuttering friend, Henry turned around to glare at Bill. "You s-s-s-say something B-b-b-billy." Henry says mocking Bill's stutter.
"You got a free ride this year, 'cause of your little brother. Ride's over Denbrough." Henry says to Bill as he took a step closer to him. Henry must have noticed his father, also my uncle staring straight at him from behind us.
"This summers gonna be a hurt train for you and your faggot friends." Henry states, it was a clear warning to all of us, he licked his hand, dragging it across Bill's face.
He turned and looked me straight in the eyes, smirking. "I'll see you at home, Nessa." He says to me the smirk never leaving his face, it felt like he was looking into my soul, it gave me goosebumps. Eddie was rubbing my arm in comfort after my cousin walked away. "I wish he'd go missing." Richie says, "He's probably the one doing it." Eddie states, as we watched them drive away in Belch's car.
Departing from the guys was hard especially knowing I might get beaten to death once Henry gets home. Most of the afternoon and later the night, I was on edge awaiting my beating, I could help but jump at every noise that rang throughout the house, but Henry never showed up, which made me feel some form of relief as I was able to catch up on some much needed sleep.
