🎈CHAPTER 27🎈
°•°Vanessa's POV°•°
Eddie didn't hesitate to speed down the roads of Derry just to get to the Inn, and not to mention how he kept on mumbling to himself about how he just wants to go back home. I, myself agreed with him, but part of me, knew that we might had stay, and finish this, but i wouldn't tell Eddie that, he would actually take me to a doctor to get my head tested.
Stopping the car Infront of the Inn, Richie parking right behind us, and with a hurry they entered the Inn. "Let's get our shit and get the fuck out of here." Richie says, climbing the stairs.
"Did you leave your stuff here?" Eddie asks Ben, following Richie.
"No, my stuff's still in the car." Ben says, seeing that his attention was on Beverly, I followed my husband to get our stuff, seeing that Eddie unpacked most of his suitcase, he had to pack everything back, as for me, my suitcase was still closed and untouched.
"I'll be waiting for you downstairs." I told Eddie, walking out our room, meeting Richie just as he exit his room, he took my suitcase carrying it down the stairs for me, as he spoke up, "Whatever you guys are talking about, let's make it happen faster, all right? We gotta go." He told Ben and Beverly.
"Eduardo, andale! Let's go!" Richie yells up the stairs, I was about to tell him, Eddie would be down any moment, but my attention was pulled to the conversation the other two were having. "There's something you're not telling us. You knew how Stanley died. You knew." Ben says, sudden images flashing through my mind, images I wish I didn't remember at that moment, why I only remembered those visions now, I have no idea, but I wish I hadn't.
"Wait, what?" Richie questions, probably thinking he heard wrong.
"I can't do this." Beverly says, walking past us. "She knew how Stanley was going to die, is that what she just said?" Richie asks confused, following them towards were the reception counter was. "You can't just walk away from this." Ben says, Beverly only ignoring him, ringing the bell.
"How did you know where he killed himself?" Ben asks her, not giving up in finding answers. "Bev. Talk to me. Just talk to me. Like we used to. Come on, how did you know?" Ben asks, stepping Infront of her, stopping her from walking away from him.
"Because I saw it, I've seen all of us die." Beverly tells him, shivers ran all over my body, hearing her say it out loud, made me even more afraid. The thumping off Eddie's bags on the stairs had us all look up at him.
"Okay, I just got to grab my toiletry bag, and then we can go." He says, looking up, only to see all of us staring up at him.
"What I'd miss?" He asks.
Going to the lounge area where the bar was located, Richie didn't hesitate to inform Eddie of what Beverly saw, and I didn't hesitate to get behind the bar grabbing a bottle of vodka and a glass, throwing the first glass down my throat.
"Okay. So, what do you mean that you've seen us all die?" Eddie nervously asks, pacing up and down, and another shot of vodka flowing down my throat.
"Yeah. Cause I gotta be honest, that's a fucked up thing to just drop on somebody." Richie says, calmer than I expected, Beverly wiped off a tear from her cheek. "Every night since Derry, I've been having these nightmares. People in pain. People dying. People..." Beverly says, it kind of made me feel bad, I saw the same as she did, but it didn't bother me every night in my sleep, instead my nightmares had my cousin in it.
"So, you have nightmares. I have nightmares. People, they have nightmares, but that doesn't mean that your visions are true." Eddie tries to explain, I didn't wanna burst his bubble, but I had to speak up.
"What if two people saw the same things?" I ask, making everyone look at me now.
"What do you mean?" Eddie asks, looking at me like I'm betraying him. "Everything Beverly saw, I saw too." I say, Beverly looked relieved that she wasn't the only one who saw those horrible deaths.
"Which means Nessa and I've watched every single one of us..." Beverly says, trailing off, afraid to finish the sentence, I only took another shot of vodka.
"You've seen every single one of us what?" Bill asks, suddenly appearing out of nowhere with Mike behind him, as he sat down Infront of her.
"At the place Stanley wound up. That's how we end." Beverly says tearfully.
"Okay, how come the rest of us aren't seeing that shit? I mean, what makes the women so different?" Richie asks.
"The deadlights." Mike spoke up.
"The deadlights." Bill mutters, as another image flashed through my mind, I remember seeing three lights in the back of Pennywise's throat, and than blanking out. "They were the only one's of us that got caught in the deadlights that day." Bill says, Mike came into the room, as he started speaking, and this time I decided to listen. "We were all touched by it. Changed. Deep down, like an infection, or a virus. A virus. You understand. Slowly growing. That virus, it's been growing for 27 years. This whole time, metastasizing. It just got to Stan first, because..." Mike says, only to have Richie cut him off, "He was the weakest." Another shot, maybe if I got drunk enough I might be able to get through this.
"Jesus Christ, Rich." Bill says.
"Just saying what everyone else is thinking, man." Richie points out.
"I mean, Rich, come on. What Beverly and Vanessa sees, it will come to pass. It's what'll happen to all of us, eventually, unless we stop it." Mike says, Richie joined me behind the bar, I held out the shot glass to him, and he didn't hesitate to drink it.
"How the hell are we supposed to do that?" Eddie asks Mike.
"The Ritual of Chud. The Shokopiwah. The first ones who fought it, they have a saying, 'All living things must abide by the laws of the shape they inhabit'." Mike informs us all.
"A tribal ritual?" Richie asks in disbelief. "Are you fucking kidding me, man? All right, there's gotta be another way. Okay? This thing comes back, what, every 27 years? Let's just kick the can down the road and do it then." Richie states, I could tell he was scared, even if he was trying to hide it. "Wait, we'll be 70 years old, asshole." Eddie says.
"Unfortunately it doesn't work like that guys, and anyway none of us make it close to another 20 years, and let me then you we don't have very pleasant endings." I say, taking another shot of the liquor, even Richie took a shot, well they do say alcohol gives you courage, right about now, I hope they are right about that.
"So, if we don't beat it, this cycle, then... We die." Ben says slowly, trying to process everything.
"Horribly." Eddie states.
"Yeah, I don't need the horribly part." Richie tells Eddie.
"I didn't say it. My wife said it. Not me." Eddie points out.
"Way to make me feel bad, Eds." I mutter softly.
"All right, guys. Look, I've seen, w-what he's talking about, and it's all true. It's the only way. If we want this ritual to work..." Bill says, having Mike finish his sentence as he says, "We have to remember."
"Remember what exactly, Mikey?" I ask.
"It's better if I show you. We don't have much time. His cycle will end soon, and once it does..." Mike says.
"We're fucked." Eddie states.
