🎈CHAPTER 29🎈
°•°Vanessa's POV°•°
"Sad." Beverly mutters to herself, and a sad silence fell over all of us, as a hid my face in Eddie's shoulder, trying my best to hold in my tears, i could feel him rubbing my back in comfort.
"He was old before his time." Ben states.
"Yeah. I wonder what he was like all grown up." Eddie states curiously.
"Probably what he was like as a kid. The best." Richie says sadly with a smile. "Here." Bill says throwing him the shower cap. "All right, Mike. What are we doing here? Richie asks, making us look at him, waiting for an answer.
"The ritual, to perform it, requires a sacrifice." Mike tells us.
"Sacrifice? I nominate Eddie." Richie points out.
"Wait, what?" Eddie asks in confusion.
"How about I nominate you?" I ask Richie, glaring at him, our bickering got cut short by Bill. "It's not that kind of a sacrifice, guys." He says.
"Mike?"
"The past is buried, but you're gonna have to dig it up. Piece by piece, and these pieces, these artifacts, that's why we're here. They are what you'll sacrifice, and since Stan isn't here to find his... I figured we should all be here together to find his artifact." Mike informs us.
"I think bill just did that." Eddie says, after putting a shower cap on his head.
We stood outside the clubhouse, once again, staring up at the sky, as some of the others were still climbing out of the hole.
"Okay, Mike, so where do we find our tokens?" Eddie asks, jumping him with questions immediately, couldn't he just wait a while, before we had to jump into the search of our tokens.
"Yeah, I gotta be honest, man. All due respect. This is fucking stupid, all right? Why do we need tokens? All right? We already remember everything. Saving Bev and Nessa, defeating it... I mean we're caught up!" Richie says, I guess I wasn't the only one who wanted to do this immediately.
"It's not everything. We fought, but what happened after that? Before the house on Neibolt. Think." Mike states, and I finally saw what he meant, because my mind was a complete blank after that.
"We c-can't remember, can we?" Bill asks, from behind Beverly crouched on the ground. "See, there's more to our story. What happened that summer, and those blank spaces, like pages torn out of a book. That's what you need to find. We need to split up. You each need to find your artifact. Alone. That's important. When you do, meet me at the library tonight." Mike says, and there it was, I wasn't sure I had the guts to do this by myself.
"Yeah, I gotta say, statistically speaking, you look at survival scenarios, we're gonna do much better as a group." Eddie states, nervously moving his hand as he was speaking.
"Yeah, splitting up would be dumb, man. Okay, we gotta go together, all right? We were together that summer, right?" Richie asks, Mike was about to say something when Bill spoke up, "No, not that w-whole summer."
"No, t-t-take it back. You're scared and we all are, but take it back!" Bill says, Richie didn't stand still, pushing the boy back, Bill punched Richie in the face.
"Bill!"
"You're just a bunch of losers!" Richie shouts trying to get to Bill, Ben was trying his best trying to hold back Bill, as Stanley and Mike was holding onto Richie.
"Fuck off!"
"Richie, stop!"
"You're just a bunch of losers, and you'll get yourselves killed trying to catch a fucking stupid clown!" Richie yells trying to free himself from Mike and Stanley's hold.
"Guys! Stop!" I yell out, having had enough, tears streaming down my cheeks.
"This is what It wants. It wants to divide us. We were all together when we hurt It. That's why we're still alive." Beverly took the chance to say, when it got quiet.
"Yeah? Well I plan to keep it that way." Richie says walking away, bumping Bill's shoulder, one by one we all walked away, I felt completely torn as I made my way home.
