Wade gazed at the cityscape, handing Spidey a chimichanga from the brown paper bag in between them. Both of their masks were pushed up over their noses, the scarring around Wade's mouth on display.
Spidey didn't care. He'd never cared that his friend was a horribly disfigured murderer. Maybe it was part of the boy's omegan nature to be unconditionally caring.
They'd bonded through their designation after a run in they had chasing the same perp. Moments after catching the man Wade had gone into heat and he'd promptly shot himself in the head (to reset his system), much to Spidey's horror. Had he known the boy was a teenager at the time, he wouldn't have done it in front of him.
Wade still didn't know Spidey's name, but he didn't care. At this point it was less him not trusting Wade than it was second nature to hide his identity.
Wade respected it. Spidey was Spidey. Anything outside of that fact was irrelevant.
"I heard you're living in the tower starting tomorrow?"
Wade hummed around his bite of food, not bothering to swallow completely before responding. "Yeah. The bastard is probably in there now spreading his scent on everything. God this is annoying."
"I think it'll be good for you, Wade. We both know how anxious you are. Think of it as taking a breather."
Coming from anyone else, he would've considered that sentence to be patronizing, but he knew the kid was just genuinely worried.
"I just don't trust alphas, kid."
"Well you told me he's not an alpha. He's an enigma."
[Jesus the kid is better at finding ridiculously optimistic loopholes than Yellow]
{Oh shut up, White}
"Apparently enigmas are more likely to commit violent crime," Wade mentioned, taking another bite.
Spidey leveled him with a look. "And apparently omegas are supposed to be pacifists. Yet here we are."
Wade barked out a laugh at that, pieces of food spewing out of his mouth. Spidey, bless his heart, didn't even grimace at his bad manners anymore.
"You got me there, kid. Still, despite my whining, I bet you my left testicle the bastard will get sick of me within a week."
"First of all, we don't have testicles. Second of all, this is kind of his job. Not to infantilize you or anything, but think of it as like a foster parent? He's there to take care of you while receiving money from the government that he will inevitably use for you. He's doing this because he wants to help, not because he has to."
"I still think he's gonna realize how fucking annoying I am and dip," Wade said, matter-of-factly.
"I don't think you're annoying?" Spidey said, sounding genuinely confused.
"Yeah well you don't have to live with me, kid."
"Keep in mind he's been shown your medical records. And Dr Lewis no doubt told him a thing or two about you. I doubt she'd have many nice things to say considering how bitchy you are to her.
{Hey!}
A long silence followed.
"I'm still scared."
Spidey looked up, staring at Wade momentarily before pulling him into a hug.
"And that's fine. Normal even. Just don't sabotage something that might actually be good for you."
Wade pulled away, his lips thinning. He looked guilty. "I shouldn't use you as a fucking therapist, kid. You're like twelve. It isn't right."
"Oh my God Wade shut up. How many times a week do I show up here and vent? Sometimes it borders on whining and you just let me pour my heart out. It was about time you showed some vulnerability. And I'm honored you did."
Wade narrowed his eyes. "Are you seriously sixteen?"
Spidey laughed. "Yeah Wade. I just know a little about something called communication."
[Punch him]
"Goddammit, no, White. Yeesh," Wade said, standing up and wiping his greasy gloves on his pants. Spidey scrunched up his nose at the display.
"You ready to kick ass Spidey?"
The boy jumped up excitedly and nodded, pulling down his mask before jumping off of the rooftop and swinging down the street.

"I'll be the one taking you to the suite today. Steve was supposed to show both you and the enigma to the suite room but he couldn't handle the guys smell. 'Course you had to pick the most troublesome option available," Barton said with sneer. Wade just rolled his eyes and followed the beta, stopping in front of a high tech door.
"The door ensures only you and the enigma can enter unless Jarvis overrides it in the case of an emergency. Stark created a decontamination area in front of the door way so that the smell from your...territory doesn't cling to you and stink up the rest of the tower. The enigma originally requested it so he could use it when he came back from work but Stark modified it, obviously. Jarvis?" Barton said, looking at the nearest camera.
The door opened, revealing a cylindrical space. When they stepped inside of it a sort of mist surrounded them before dissipating almost immediately, the second door to the chamber opening.
Wade audibly gasped at the scent, his legs mindlessly driving him forward and into the suite.
The suite was boring and clean and white, except for a few pops of colour that seemed completely out of place.
A rainbow coloured fake fur on the couch. A veritable mountain of snacks on the dining room table and what appeared to be clothes and fleeces on the coffee table.
He shuffled through the living space, touching everything that he knew the enigma had scented. The countertops in the kitchen. The tablecloth on the dining room table. The chairs. The couch. The fucking rug. The rainbow fur and pile of material on the coffee table almost physically radiated the scent and Wade shuddered as he sat down next to them.
"He got those for you. He says to use them as nesting materials. Don't know why it's necessary considering the bedroom reeks."
Silently, Wade stood up and made his way to the bedroom, a very soft whine escaping his throat when the door opened. He stumbled to the bed, falling on top of it and burying his face in the pillows.
"Augh God it's giving me a headache. No wonder Steve tapped out," Barton whined. Wade craned his neck to glare at the beta, who just raised his hands in a placating gesture. "Aight I'll leave. The doctor said to not kill yourself before the enigma arrives by the way."
Wade pointedly glowered at Barton until he was out of his territory, before throwing himself under the covers and drifting off to sleep faster than he had in almost a decade.
