The shrink had decided that it would be best for Wade to meet you in neutral territory.

For once, Wade actually agreed with her, even if his reasoning was a lot more juvenile than hers.

Which brought him to his current situation, sitting on the godawful chaise in the common room - propping his feet up on the table in an attempt to appear nonchalant - and waiting for your arrival.

He felt rather than smelled you, at first. It was as if the air in the room had shifted. Then came the scent. So much better and so much more intense in person. The feeling of simultaneous exhilaration and calm caused by your scent intertwined with his apprehension.

"You don't have to turn around yet," you said, a few steps behind him. "You smell like if anxiety was a room spray."

Wade closed his eyes, relishing in the sound of your voice, the subsequent slowing beats of his heart.

"You can smell that? From there? You shouldn't be able to," Wade said, still not daring to turn around. He appreciated that you kept your distance and didn't move.

"Yes," you answered. "Why?"

"My suit has scent suppressors. They're definitely functioning properly otherwise McGyver would have emptied his stomach when he let you in."

"They are...distressed by your scent?"

"I smell dead, dude. Most alphas would hurl, to be honest."

"I am relatively sure I don't fall into that category, thankfully. Otherwise I'd have trouble going back into the suite."

There was a pause. "You've been feeling shitty the past three days, haven't you?"

Wade scowled but figured he'd best be honest. "Yeah. Fuck if I know why. It's not usually like this when I'm alone."

"It's probably because you're not in survival mode, anymore. Properly giving into your nature for the first time can be an emotional experience. Though your episode must have been more subdued. Mine was kinda violent."

Wade took a deep breath. "You can come here."

"Alright. If you want me to give you space you let me know, okay?"

Wade kept his eyes closed as you rounded around the chaise, but opened them in shock as you kneeled down on the floor in front of him.

Alphas almost never lowered themselves to an omega's height.

Wade doesn't think he could remember a time when he'd physically looked down at an alpha.

You'd have looked completely ordinary had it not been for your musculature, that could, in Wade's opinion, put Captain America to shame.

You gazed back up at him with a kind look on your face and smiled. "It's nice to finally meet you. My name is (Y/N) (L/N). What would you like me to call you?"

"Uh," he mumbled dumbly. "I, Wade is fine."

"Then, Wade, how about we take the shit I bought," you brandished a plastic bag. "And go put it in the cupboards."

He looked questioningly at the item. "What's in there?"

You grinned, showing off your elongated canines. They were longer than Stark's or Steve's, he noted. "Baking supplies. That is if you even like sweet things. Suppose I could make savory muffins if you don't."

Wade huffed, feeling more energized than he had the last few days. "I literally ate all of the snacks."

You made a dramatically distraught face. "Even that sexy peanut butter candy?"
