Chapter 8 - The Trikru Grounder

It was light when we reached the less wooded part of the forest.

"We've lost the trail, we should go back and find the trail again," Finn spoke up.

,,We're not coming back." Bellamy said, he was starting to get stressed again about the trail, although now he wasn't just stressed, he was now angry about it.

"Bellamy, we're going to find her," I told him and walked a little further.

,,Where's John?" Roma asked.

,,He was here a while ago." Jasper said.

Now I realized it more, we are in Trikru territory, we went around that river, the border... The stress has already taken hold of me too... I looked around, an archer was standing on a tree branch...

,,Where did they go?" Jasper asked confused.

,,After Roma..." Bellamy said, running in that direction. Idiot... I don't want to lose him. If he runs after her, they might kill him too...

My impulsiveness gets me and I run after him, followed by the others after a while.

All that could be seen was Bellamy in shock as he stared at one tree where Roma had been impaled by a spear...

,,She only went because of me..." Bellamy said closing her eyes.

,,Bellamy, they could kill us at any moment..." Finn said.

,,Then let them end it! WE ARE HERE! HERE WE ARE, COME END THIS!" Jasper started yelling, I gagged him with my hand. But it was too late...

While the others started to run, I saw Octavia, Grounder was with her. I ran in their direction.

Octavia noticed me and struggled to free herself from her captor's grip.

As soon as the Grounder noticed me, he passed Octavia behind him. He drew his dagger.

,, I don't want to hurt anyone, I just want to take her back..." I raised my hands to show that I had nothing and spoke in Trigedasleng. It didn't occur to me that he wanted to hurt me so much that I would die, he would kill Octavia too.

,,Please, she's my friend let me go!" Octavia protested as the Grounder thought for a second.

Grounder narrowed his eyes, and instead of stabbing me, ran up to me and smacked me in the head with the handle of the dagger. Before I fell into darkness, I heard that familiar foghorn that warns people of acid fog... I hope they find shelter...

I woke up in the cave, but not the one where Roan is, but where Octavia is with the Grounder.

,,Oh my god, you're awake!" Octavia said, hugging me even though she couldn't go very far with the chain on her leg.

,,I was so scared, don't do this to me again." I muttered to her.

That Grounder has come again.

,,You are one of those who want peace, if not, you would have killed not only her but also me. Why didn't you kill us? Speak." I spoke in his language.

Octavia watched me in astonishment.

The grounder frowned at me in confusion, surprised that I can speak his language this much, I think.

But he remained silent. Octavia looked at me, asking me to do something stupid.

The grounder turned and I got up, quietly, he was rummaging through some stuff. I took a stone and hit him on the head with it, he fell to the ground unconscious.

,,You had a good shot." Octavia told me, but we didn't reach the key.

Suddenly I hear voices, I'm getting afraid, there could be more of them, I crawled as close as possible to Octavia and pushed her behind me.

But an unexpected person entered the cave... Bellamy...

,,Bellamy!" Octavia smiled. Bellamy ran to hug her.

,,The key." I breathed a sigh of relief and pointed to the key that the grounder had on the table...

Bellamy unlocked both of our chains.

"Let's go before he wakes up," Octavia said.

,,Let's go Bellamy." I said but he stood his ground.

,,He won't wake up." He said simply and took a spear from the wall.

,,Bellamy, no." I said.

,,Foghorn..." Finn was crouched next to the Grounder, examining his things.

,,Finn, get away from him." Bellamy said with a spear in hand.

,,But-" Finn couldn't finish because the Grounder stand up and stabbed him in the chest. The Grounder improved his stance and followed me and Bellamy, mainly Bellamy because he had the Spear, me because I had hit him in the head before.

I shook my head at him, but he ignored me, then he started unexpectedly running at Bellamy.

They started to fight, Bellamy losing due to the fact that almost every grounder is trained to fight.

Before I could step in, Jasper was the one to hit the grounder in the head.

Jasper picked Bellamy up by his hand, but then we heard the breathing of Finn, who still had the dagger in his chest.

,,Don't pull out that dagger Octavia!" I quickly raised my voice as Octavia tried to pull out the dagger.

Bellamy took Finn, and we quickly left to the Camp.
