Chapter 13 - Unity Day

I was standing next to Raven, together we secured more monitors and improved the radio, I'm trying to get the music working, but it's not working. We are currently listening to Chancellor Jaha's speech on Unity Day.

,,Someone shut him down!" I heard Miller say.

,,Shut up Miller, no one is forcing you to watch." Raven replied and continued to watch.

,,We've been celebrating The Unity Day for decades, always on the Ark, but this year on Earth!" Jaha said.

,,After we've done all the work." I nodded my head at Miller's comment.

"Now, let's hear about how the Ark bonded," Jaha said, and the monitor focused on the little girl. But she said the first word, and there was an explosion followed by a screen blackout.

,,What?" Raven and I asked.

In the end, we didn't solve it, we put it down to the fact that the signal was interrupted. They started dancing, drinking, and I tried to turn on the music.

,,Why aren't you having fun, Kat?" I heard Bellamy behind me.

,,I want to finish it, if you would be so kind as to bring me some Monty's Moonshine." I tried to somehow combine the cables. Bellamy left, I got mad because I've been trying for over two hours, and I slammed it. Suddenly, it lit up. And the music started playing, I won't lie, I was a music lover, I remembered every code on every song.

I heard the delinquents pause in astonishment.

I threw my fists in the air.

,,Finally!" I smiled and walked over to Bellamy.

,,Great, yeah and here's the drink." He said handing me a glass of Monty's Moonshine. I drank it so fast that even Bellamy was surprised.

,,And now it's time to have fun, I don't care what you do, but you're coming with me." I said and led him by the arm to the people who were dancing.

I saw Clarke playing a game. She's finally enjoying herself, she missed this, she just didn't show it.

,,Come dance, don't tell me you've forgotten how to dance in the past few years." I underestimated him on purpose.

He smirked and looked around, everyone was dancing except for a few who were playing drinking games.

And there were friends, couples, that danced in every way.

So we danced too, maybe we looked like more than friends but we weren't, maybe we danced like horny teenagers but we weren't them.

After a while I went to Clarke to play the game. I got her as a partner in the game, Harper and Miller were against us.

,,Let's go Clarke, I've been doing this since I was fifteen." I said and she raised an eyebrow.

We won, again, again, and again, we were drunk enough, but we didn't even think about it. I walked back to Bellamy who had a smirk on his face and was with his gun next to the walls.

,,Are you kidding me, there's plenty of fun everywhere, and you just stand here and watch? What did you do with old Bellamy." I asked and he shook his head at my drunken behavior.

,,Nothing, I just don't think it's best to have a party when there's an army of Grounders around." He told me but I rolled my eyes.

,,Katarina?" I heard Finn right behind me, smiled and turned around.

,,Yes?" I asked, tilting my head slightly.

,,Come with me, please." He begged and I went, he gave me a glass of water to at least reduce my drunkenness a little.
