Clary POV

I wake up to a text from my mom I didn't see last night.

Momasita: Your dad sent me a picture and oh my God Clary you looked gorgeous! I remember wearing that to junior prom! So glad you had a good time. ♡♡♡

I smile and respond quickly before heading into the shower. When I get out I see a note from my dad saying he went out.

I head to my room and change into a light pink t shirt and regular jeans. I brush through my wild hair. I get a text from Jace while I'm sketching.

Goldilox: On my way up. You ready?

Me: yeah. Just in my room sketching.

Goldilox: Anyone in particular ;)

I laugh and hear the elevator door open. "Your carriage awaits, Clarissa!" Jace yells. I climb down and see Jace in a black t shirt and dark jeans. In his hands he has two cups of coffee. He hands me one saying, "Black like your soul."

"Haha." I take a drink and grab his hand. "Ready to go?" Jace smiles and nods.

We ride on his motorcycle and I have my hands around him holding on for dear life. When we finally stop I say, "That was fricken awesome!"

Jace laughs and we go up to Jon's hospital room. "You're favorite sister is here Jonathan." I say as I lead Jace in.

Jonathan smiles when he sees me and looks confused when he sees Jace. "Who's this?"

"Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern, this is Jace Lightwood. I've come for him to get," I pause and clear my throat before continuing in an over pretentious voice, "The Big Brother's Stamp of Approval."

Jon smiles a little mischievously and Jace looks kind of nervous. "I see. And what claims does Mr Lightwood have to request such a serious thing."

"Well, I fell in love with her the first moment I saw her, helped her through a bunch of emotional drama between her ex, and she's an amazing person I want to spend all my free time with," Jace says with determination.

"I see...and what intentions do you have for your relationship with my little sister?"

"Take things slow, get to know her better, and be the kind of guy she needs after the shit her last two boyfriends put her through."

I smile knowing Jace passed Jonathan's test. I give him a quick kiss on the cheek as Jon pretends to deliberate in his head.

"After much thought and consideration in the matter, I have decided you get my approval. Who's got a sharpie?" I hand him one and he takes Jace's hand and draws a ;) above a check mark. "You have been approved!"

We all laugh and talk until visiting hours are over. Once they are, Jace and I go to the park.

We buy some mango ice cream and sit under a tree relaxing. My eyes are closed as Jace absentmindly runs his fingers through my hair.

I smear a bunch of mango ice cream over his face. "Oh you're getting it now Red." I run away put Jace catches me and throws me over his shoulder. He spins around as I laugh my head off. When he sets me down, he kisses me passionately.

While we're sitting by the fountain talking, something disrupts the peace and calm...a loud "QUACK!"

Jace yelps and stands up on the fountain as a little baby duck comes out of the bush. I laugh at Jace who looks like a scared little two year old watching Insideous or something. "Clary get away from that monster!"

I laugh even more as Jace screams when the duck jumps onto the ledge of the fountain and comes towards him. I take my phone out and video tape for a few minutes before I pick up the duckling and take it back to the pond.

When I come back, Jace is white as a sheet. I laugh and wrap my arms around his neck. "Awww. Who's my bwave whittle Jacey Wacey," I say in a baby voice.

Jace glares for a second but smiles and wraps his arms around my waist and leans down so our foreheads are touching. I close my eyes and we just stay there like that for what feels like forever.

Jace kisses my nose and asks, "Do you want to go to Taki's for lunch?" I nod and we walk back to his motorcycle and ride to Taki's.

When our waiter comes it's, of course, Kaelie. "Heyyy Jace. What can I getcha?" She bites her lip and winks at him. It takes all my strength not to strangle her right here and now.

"I'll have a Coke," Jace says annoyed.

"And I'll have the same as my boyfriend," I say putting emphasis on last word. Kaelie sneers and walks off. I look over at Jace and see him smirking. "What?"

"Nothing. You're just really cute when you're jealous." I blush and he leans across the table to give me a soft kiss.

After we eat and pay, we head back to my place to watch a movie. By random selection, Titanic is chosen. While Jace makes popcorn, I go and change into my pajamas. When I come back down, Jace is relaxing on the couch with a blanket ready to cover us.

I lean against him and he covers us so only my head is showing and a little on his chest. The next three hours is filled with laughing, yelling at Cal through the screen, and loud sobbing at the end. Even Mr Tough Guy is crying.

When the movie ends, we wipe our eyes off, but not before Jace gets a selfie for Instagram using the caption: Date night with my girl. Tortured ourselves watching Titanic.

While I'm cleaning up the the popcorn and that kind of thing, I hear Jace ask, "Nice piano. Do you play?"

"A little. I used to play all the time. Do you?" I ask coming up behind and looking at him run his hands over the keys.

"Yeah." He looks up at me, his golden brown eyes wide. "Can you play something for me?"

I hesitate, but sit down at the piano. I decide to play Beethoven's piano sonata no. 14 in c-sharp minor which I know by heart. I close my eyes as I play loving the sweet sound. My hands fly across the keys keeping perfect tempo. When the song ends I open my eyes to see Jace gaping.

"That was amazing Clary!" I laugh and make room for him on the bench. We mess around playing songs and completely butchering the lyrics. It's not that we're bad singers or anything. We're actually pretty good together. It's the fact we're laughing our hearts out while we're trying to sing.

We're in the middle of I See Fire when my dad comes home. He smiles at us and goes to the fridge to get stuff out to make dinner not wanting to interupt.

After a few minutes, Jace's mom calls and tells him it's time to come home. He kisses me goodbye then leaves. I sit at the piano bench smiling as Dad finishes dinner.

"I can't remember the last time you were this happy, Clary. Or playing the piano like that," he says as he eats some of the spaghetti.

I smile a little. "I guess you could say he's like my better half. You should have seen how he and Jonathan were getting along."

We spend the rest of dinner talking and joking. Afterwards we sit at the table playing poker until almost 11.
