chapter four

The Quinjet landed in the open space a few miles out from the cabin. The three of them hurried through the trees, seeing the cabin up ahead.

Loki realised the place was far too quiet.

"Somethings wrong" He said.

They fanned out, carefully walking towards it. When they still saw or heard nothing, they quickly went inside.

Steve looked around, a few chairs had been knocked over, there was some restraints on one of them.

"Where are they?" Clint whispered.

Steve pointed to the other rooms, letting them all check.

But there was no sign.

Loki was about to go upstairs, when he saw the basement door had been locked. The key was still in it.

Carefully he unlocked it, and all of them headed downstairs.

Where they found the three of them, lying on the ground, looking like they were dead.

Loki ran over, placing a hand on both of his children, feeling this was a sleeping spell.

He waved his hand a few times, chanted a few words.

Moments later, the three of them woke up. Athena looked around, finding her father.

"Dad" She breathed. "What happened?"

Then she realised where she was. And what had gone on.

They now sat upstairs, in the lounge. Clint had made them all drinks, letting them gather their strength.

"They just came from nowhere. Didnt tell us there names. Dragged Fandral and Jack inside, already they were under the spell. They then tortured me, demanded to know about Mom, and her visions" She said, looking upset. "I tried not to tell them anything, but they said they would hurt Jack, if I didn't"

"Its okay sweetheart" Loki soothed.

"I had hoped that Mom would see this, to get some warning. But he was smart, he knew how to get around her visions, even before I told him. When he done. He put us down in the basement. I remember nothing else, until now" She replied.

"Explains how Aria didnt see this" Clint said.

"Dad, where is mom?" Jack asked.

Loki looked saddened for a moment.

"Holler has her" He replied.

"He kidnapped her?" Fandral asked.

Loki shook his head.

"Somehow he has convinced her to change sides. She went with him, to kill the king"

They sat silently for a moment.

"Mom wouldnt do that" Athena whispered, bringing her eyes up to meet her husbands.

"Cant you ask Grandfather to bring us up?" Jack wondered.

"Uncle Thor tried" Loki explained.

Athena looked over at her brother.

"Jack, you can summon it. Take Dad and Uncle Thor there" She said.

Loki looked over at Jack, hopeful.

"I cant. I didnt learn how. We left in such a hurry, remember" He said.

"Cant you at least, try?" She said, soothingly.

He looked around at everyone, looking back at him, hope in there eyes.

"I guess so" He said. "Just dont be mad at me, if I cant do it"

"I believe in you, son" Loki smiled.

Once the jet had landed, they walked into the compound. Tony was pleased to see them all there. Thor looked up from the floor, smiling at his niece and nephew.

"What are you guys doing here?" He boomed.

"Jack is going to practice summoning the Bifrost Uncle Thor. So we can save Grandfather Odin and mother" Athena whispered.

He quickly looked over at his nephew, nodding.

"right. I guess the rest of us should be preparing" He stated, before walking off.

Loki quickly caught up with him.

"Thor, we should do alone. It will only draw more attention to us if we take everyone"

"How do you suppose we fight in a battle, with just the two of us brother? You dont know how many more went up there with him"

"And we know Father doesnt forgive so easily either. We might go up here, only to find ourselves in the middle of both of the armies" Loki said. "We should go alone, check it out, then get help if we need to"

Thor looked at Loki.

"Brother, are you ready to stand against your wife. To protect our family?"

Loki turned away from him, not ready to face that.

"Do they know Loki?"

He sighed.

"I told them some of what has happened, but not that she went completely willing" He said.

"You must explain. At least so they can be prepared. Because if it comes down to saving father. We wont have any other choice"

Thor turned and then walked away. Leaving Loki standing there in the hall, thinking about it. A few moments later, he sighed, looked up to head back into the room, finding Steve standing there.

Staring.

Loki went to walk by him, but he quickly stopped him.

"Would you really kill her Loki?" He asked.

Loki couldnt look up.

"Honestly Steve?" He sighed.

"Yeah"

I dont know Loki replied.

Steve dropped his hand, letting Loki walk into the room. Thinking that if he really loved Aria, he wouldnt hesitate about saving her.
