chapter ten

Tony was working on what Arias next move would be. He had seen the distraction and knew this had to stop before it got out of hand, or someone got hurt.

"Tony, I know you desperately want to find them. But dont you think Ross is going over the top?" Pepper asked.

He said nothing.

"You need to work on proving Steve didnt do this. He would do the same for you" She then said.

Tony sighed, he knew she was right.

"They wouldnt run, unless they needed too"

Clint came in, as Pepper had spoken.

"Aria is on the run from Asgard. She didnt want us to be caught up in it" He replied. "Apparently, she murdered Odin"

Both Pepper and Tony looked mortified.

"As for Steve, he was looking for Aria, because he is in love with her"

Tony couldnt believe this, looking around at him, like he didnt know his team at all.

"How long has that been going on?" He asked.

"Short version. Since they first met in Italy. Until she got her memory back about Loki, but feelings like that never leave" Clint said.

Pepper sat down.

"You think Steve is doing this because he loves her?" She stated.

Clint shook his head.

"Love doesnt really come into it. I think Steve is being set up. Somehow, this new Hydra, know how he feels. They knew she will protect him. This is to lure her away from our protection" He said.

Tony thought this through, realising it made sense.

"A mate gave me this" He held out a list.

Clint looked at it.

"Its the buildings this new group are using as bases. The one that was hit, was in New York" Tony explained. "Steve had gone in to see this guy a few days ago. This morning, they went to his apartment, to hide. Somehow, Ross got to them first. According to Ross, after a lot of yelling, they managed to escape, by Aria flying"

Clint was confused.

"Since when?" He asked.

"About a year or more" Tony answered. "When I found out she could, I helped her to fine tune it"

They sat silently.

Natasha and Bruce walked into the room, looking disappointed.

"The cabin is empty. Athena has packed and gone in a hurry" Natasha said.

Tony and Clint looked worried.

"They went after her" Tony said.

"Only I bet Athena saw them coming" Clint finished.

"We need to find Aria. Or at least get a message to her"

Clint was shaking his head.

"We know Aria and Steve. The will be going after this new Hydra group. We gotta help" He said.

Everyone in the room agreed.

Including Tony.

Aria landed at the cabin in Georgia, assuming her children would be there. But as she walked towards the building, she can feel something is wrong.

They walk inside, quietly.

Both instantly picking up on the fact they left in a hurry.

"Where are they?" Steve wondered, knowing they didnt leave the cabin like this.
