His eyes widened and his body tensed in preparation as Dabi emerged from the warp, hand holding firmly onto Izuku's shoulder. What could they possibly want with me? Izuku thought to himself as his mind began to race, searching for an explanation but finding none.
Izuku's panicked thoughts came to a halt when Dabi's grip tightened, the instinct to defend himself kicking in as his body began to glow. Red sparkling steaks covered Izuku from head to toe before fading in a flash and being replaced with vibrant green lightning. He was flooded with an almost overwhelming sense of calm, as he raised his fist to strike his opponent. Oh, how Izuku liked this calm, his mind cleared of all intrusive thoughts and tormenting voice silent. The only thing running through his mind now are strategies.
Izuku took in every detail he could about Dabi, from his stance to his quirk, from his scars to his attitude. All of it was ammunition for Izuku, assisting his mind in forming a counterattack. One For All Full Cowling! Dabi's eyes widened at the fist rapidly approaching his abdomen, though the punch was aimed at an angle and heading directly for his spleen. A punch like that would cause a large amount of internal bleeding.
Izuku knew this, of course, that's why he targeted that area. If he hit it hard enough, with that amount of internal bleeding Dabi would need emergency medical attention. In other words, he wouldn't be able to escape with the rest of the League. Not unless they were willing to help him run and treat him later. Dabi chanced turning his gaze to his leader, Shigaraki, he had orders to take the boy with no injuries. But surely defending himself was alright?
"I wouldn't do that kid! If you harm Dabi you'll mother will pay for it!" Shigaraki yelled for the class to hear, smirking as the students tensed and turned their attention to their green-haired classmate. Izuku's fist was inches away from hitting its target when the villain's words reached his ears. His breath hitched as his calm demeanour faded, images and memories of his mother flooding his mind. In a split second, Izuku's quirk was gone as his fist hovered over the villain's abdomen.
He raised his gaze to the smirking villain across the field, face forming into a glare as his knuckles turned white. How dare he threaten her.
"Let him go!"
Dabi looked to the source of the voice, his eyes hardening when they rested on the dual-haired student. Todoroki was standing in a fighting stance, his right leg slightly encased in pent-up ice. "Stay out of this kid!" Dabi shot back, grip tightening on Izuku's shoulder.
"And if we don't?" another student asked, spiky red hair visible from the corner of Dabi's eye. He too was in a fighting stance, hardened fists raised to fight. Izuku tensed as Dabi turned his gaze between the three students before landing on the greenette, his scarred lips being pulled up into a smirk.
"All of you, go and stand with your teacher now. Or else I'll burn his arm so bad he'll never be able to use it again!" Dabi threatened, summoning enough heat to his hand for Izuku to flinch back. "Class get over here NOW!" Aizawa commanded, capture scarf ready as the class rushed to obey. The hero grimaced at the terrified look on his student's face. He knows I'm doing this to protect him right? There's only so much Recovery Girl can do. Besides, I'd never let those villains hurt him. Aizawa thought to himself.
Izuku stared after his classmates as they ran towards their teacher, he understood Aizawa's reasoning of course, but it still hurt nonetheless to watch as his friends left him behind and at the mercy of villains no less. "Well, We'll be on our way now." Izuku's blood ran cold as Shigaraki smiled at his class. "Have a lovely day." the villain ended sarcastically as he stepped back into the portal formed by Kurogiri, the remaining League members following.
Aizawa reacted in an instant, flinging his scarf towards Izuku. The material barely touched the boy, before he was pulled out of reach. Eyes widening, Aizawa could only watch as his student was pulled into the swirling depths of Kurogiri's warp. Izuku's green eyes seemed to glow with fear and desperation as he disappeared.
