Transforming, Izuku starts using his accumulated toughness and brute strength to mow down any robots he came across. 'If I don't count my points, it'll build a sense of urgency.' He catches sight of people around him using their quirks in various ways. The six armed guy he saw before had several extra limbs on the ends of his tentacles which he used to find and destro robots and the fancy blonde he saw earlier took down a robot he was about to smash woth a belly button laser. Izuku wipes some sweat from his brow while scanning the area for more robots. There's suddenly a rumble from the ground. 'An earthquake?'
A robot bigger than the buildings around him rises up from the ground, casually destroying the city. 'That's an obstacle!?' Watching it march through the city, Izuku turns to run away. 'I can't fight that thing. Even after my training with Kacchan, if that thing steps on my I'll die.' He stops when he hears a cry for help. He looks back to see Uraraka stuck under some debris. 'She's stuck. Even if she hasn't reached her limit, she's probable panicking. But o don't know how many points I have.' Seeing her terrified face, he runs towards her. 'But I can't in good conscience leave her here.' He recalls All Might's (terrible) advice. 'Clench your cheeks and yell,' he feels a massive surge of power in his legs and suddenly finds himself face to face with the zero pointer. "SMASH!" He punches it, caving in the robots head and the damage causing a chain reaction of explosions throughout its body. 'Holy crap that was powerful. Now just to get down.' He notices the agonising pain in three of his limbs. 'I'm broken?!'
Falling towards the ground faster than he would like, Izuku tries to formulate a plan. 'So, the backlash, while not lethal, is still pretty bad. I could rely on Evolution to mitigate the damage, but I don't know if I'm tough enough to withstand this kind of fall. I'll have to use a smash at the last second to slow down. I hope I have enough points to pass.' He winds back his other arm, preparing to break his only working limb when he's interrupted by a sting in his cheek. 'Did she just slap me?' He slows down, him and Uraraka are set down gently, with her puking soon after. Whether it was from quirk overuse or shock, Izuku couldn't tell. His vision goes dark.
At home, Izuku can't help but worry. 'I should have counted.'
"Honey, why are you smiling at the fish? Izuku looks up at his worried mom.
He smiled sheepishly. "Sorry. Just nervous."
She smiles back. "I'm sure you did great. The letter should come today or tomorrow."
She leaves and Izuku starts working out. 'I wonder why All Might hasn't contacted me?'
He absent mindedly lifts the weight for a little while before his mother bursts in the door in a bundle of nerves. "Izuku, it's here!"
She waves the envelope around frantically when yelling is heard at the door. "Izuku, you get your letter?!"Izuku and Bakugou stare at their envelopes, as if expecting them to open themselves. Bakugo sighs and opens his, a metal disk falling out. It displays of a hologram of Present Mic he passed and got second on the practical exam. A victorious fist bump later and Izuku opens his own letter, this disk displaying a recording of "All Might?!"
"I am here as a projection! The reason I came to town is because I'm beginning my career in education at UA. Huh, what's that?" There's muffled talking from off screen. "I can tell him the other stuff later? All right. Anyway, you scored top ten in the written exam, but the practical is where you really shined. You see, while taking down villains is a big part of being a hero, a good hero always prioritises the preservation of life. So, there was a hidden factor to the practical exam. Rescue points! Along with your 65 villain points, you got 75 rescue points! Congratulations star student, you scored first in the practical exam! Welcone young Midoriya, to your hero academia."The duo were left staring at the disk after the projection disappeared Bakugou initiated conversation. "We scored to two in the exam." Izuku nods. The two stand up and yell with such volume it almost put Mic to shame. "YYYEEEAAAHHH!"
All Might met Izuku on the beach that night with a massive smile on his face. "How's it feel to be a student at UA young Midoriya?"
"It feels good." Izuku looks up at the deflated hero. "Thank you."
All Might waves away the thanks. "Oh, I didn't pull any strings. I wasn't even legally working at UA during the exam. Any result you git was from your own hard work."
"Yeah. Learning you're going to be a teacher was shocking. Especially since you're agency is in Tokyo."
All Might nods. "Well I couldn't tell until the school made it public knowledge. I was planning on using the position to find a successor."
Izuku looks at his formerly broken arm. "Speaking of, One For All has a lot of raw power. Even my Evolution couldn't handle the strain. Even if I repeatedly broke my bones, I'd suffer permanent damage before it would work."
All Might shrugs. "That's how it is I suppose. I didn't master One For All in a day."
"I guess you're right." His eyes widen. "Wait, you knew that would happen?!"
All Might swears a little. "I-I mean I didn't know it was going to be that bad, and it worked out all right in the end. Or I should say All Might."
"Nuh uh, you don't get to make a pun and get away with it. Hero or not, come here so I can hit you!"
"Young Midoriya, wait!"
