" Don't need to be alone, no need to be alone "

imagine living in liverpool in the 1960s, life sure can't be better than this. unless you're nat anderson, who's life sucks. she works as a small office and lives in an apartment with her best friend since childhood, jane asher. sure, they both had cushy jobs but they can make a living out of it.

nat was home one sunday morning and turned on the news, she heard the name "paul mccartney." she knew a paul mccartney, he was one of her closed friends until the day. oh, how she hated the day.

" hey jane! do you remember paulie? man's on the news. " nat blurted on to her roommate, who was busy in the kitchen who luckily heard everything.

" no way! i never really met the guy but that's good news! " nat would bring up paul in small amounts like this one, that's how jane knew.

" well, i'm off to work. later jane! " nat grabbed her stuff and walked out of the room. jane was mid-sentence until nat slammed the door.

it was pouring rain and the rain drops were making loud drops on nat's umbrella. she didn't really mind, she loved the rain. while walking, she saw a piece of paper stapled together on a poll. she decided to check it out and it was said that someone named brian epstein was looking for an assistant, loads of cash comes with this job. nat knew what to do.

" oh christ, god's on my side now eh? " she ran back to the apartment as she fast as she could. but then remembered she had work. nat can tell jane about this later, work first fun later.

as time quickly passed, nat showed more and more excitement of getting home, until it was time. she ran quickly out of her office, to the bus, and to her apartment. she opened her room to find jane sitting on the couch, eating ice cream in despair.

" jane! get off your lazy ass and guess what i found. " jane slowly turned to face the girl, her face dripping down.

" what is it, nat? " nat jumped over the couch and bounced up and down. she gave the paper to jane and noticed jane's eyes widened in excitement.

" are you thinking what i'm thinking? " questioned nat. a smirk appeared on jane's face as she turned to face nat.

" i believe i am, innit? " the two girls giggled with laughter as they picked up the phone and called the quote and quote, brian epstein.

it's been two weeks since they made that phone call and nothing has happened. they have come to turns that they weren't chosen, until today. it was around 10am when the phone rang, nat groaned and picked it up. " ello, anderson and asher service, how may i help you? " she heard the name brian epstein and listened very closely.

" holy fuck! really? " nat screamed with excitement, jane was out to get groceries so nat was all alone.

" thank you so much! when do i start? "

" TODAY? YOU MEAN TODAY? " nat couldn't believe what she heard, she was starting today in one hour. " i'll talk to you later, mr. epstein. "

nat changed quickly into something comfortable and yet good looking. she didn't want to look like a slob on the first day of her new job, reminding her that she has TWO jobs now and not one, luckily she doesn't work on mondays. she got ready and head to her new job. as soon she arrived, she notice it was a club named the cavern club.

" eh! jane works here! " nat remembered. she stepped through the doors to see the place packed. she looked around for brian, who was no where in sight. she felt a tap on her shoulder, nat thought it was jane but as she turned around, she realized it was paul.

" wow! anderson, i don't remember you looked this fine since the last time i saw you! " paul flirted. she stared at him in disbelief, she couldn't stand looking at him in the eyes after the day.

" listen, " he broke up the awkwardness between them. " i know i have done bad things in the past, but i changed! i'm a new man! "

" you are? you look like the same paul mccartney to me, just the hair is a bit different. " nat talked back, she did like his new hairstyle, she thought it was cute.

" paul! paul! where is that bastard? " nat recognized brian's voice, she slowly realized.

" here i am, sir! " he called out, brian approached him.

" paul! we have a performance to take care of. " his eyes then went to nat. " ahh! you must be nat anderson! paul's talked about you, a lot actually. " he shook nat's hand and paul hit him during the third sentence.

" now, you both can start here and talk and i'll get the others ready, k? " they both nodded and brian left. paul and nat decided to grab a drink together, like old times.

" i'm sorry. "

" for what? " paul didn't make eye contact with the girl next to him, he just stared at the floor in disbelief.

" for what i've treated you, no man shouldn't have done that. " paul took her hand gently, nat blushed.

" can you ever forgive me? " and there it was, paul's infamous puppy eyes. nat couldn't look at them, they were puppy eyes after all.

" fine! i forgive you, you bastard! " a smile curled up on paul's face from excitement, an old friend became a new friend again. " but if you fuck up again, i swear- "

then there it was, paul's lips connected with nat's mid sentence. it was a short kiss but it will be remembered for later. he broke off to take a breath and winked at her as he walked away. nat was still in shocked. paul mccartney just kissed her.
