You sat on the balcony to your apartment.
The rain had been pouring for a while, but it was finally coming to a stop. Birds began to sing low tunes again as the sun set beyond the horizon. Cotton candy clouds blanketed the sky, covering the blossoming stars. Your eyes watched the city as its night life sprang into action.
Crash
Your head whipped around instantly, spotting the location of the noise. It was a mugging.
Sucking in a breath, you raced out from your door and began to make your way to the scene. It was in a dark alleyway that nobody else would see in time. When you rounded the corner your eyes were met with a horrible sight. A woman was being beat up by a few "purple dragons" and she was using her purse as a shield.
You sighed. No matter how awesome or heroic you thought you were, there was no way you could actually do any real fighting. You had noodles for arms and weren't the most athletic. Any of these men could take both of you out in a swing.
Just when you thought you would call the police, you accidentally bumped a trash can. Your phone fell from grip.
Clink
The heads of the gang members frantically searched for you. Once the tall guy saw you hiding, he marched over and grabbed your arm. You whimpered as he dragged you into the open. The woman had escaped by now and the men were only focused on getting revenge for her getting away.
"What's th' matta', too afraid th' fight?" The blonde one spat. He looked you up and down. "Not much for muscles, I'll say." His friend chuckled, pulled something out of his pocket. It was a gun.
"N-no, wait!" You screamed. You pleaded for them to let you go. "It was an accident!"
He just laughed louder and came closer. He held it in the air like some sort of party popper. Twirling it, the man gave you a stern glare. "Now listen up you little girl. The next time you pick us Purple Dragons to mess with will be the biggest mistake in ya life." He snarled.
You kicked at the air with your feet, trying to get out of the blonde's hold. He tightened his grip and hissed at your futile efforts. "Calm it down or else."
Your eyes grew wide. They had you. You couldn't even escape. The panic began to set in as your breathing got rapid and your eyes dilated.
Crash
Clank
"Who-" the friend started. He was promptly grabbed and silenced. Muffled shouts and screams filled your ears as the men started disappearing one by one. Finally it was just you and two men: the blonde holding you and a scrawny brunette. The little one was obviously terrified out of his mind. No doubt he was a runt just trying to get off the streets.
"Show yourselves!" The blonde bellowed. He grabbed hold of you again and held you to the wall. "Or the girl gets it."
Hushed whispering could be made out from above you. You could almost make out words like "No, Raph. Too risky." "Shut up!" "Ok, fearless." "Dumb." Then a younger male said "Dudes, she's totally hot and my type." He was promptly shushed by all three other vigilantes and you heard a groan.
You couldn't help but plaster a grin over your face and blush. You didn't think you'd ever hear that. Especially during a mugging in a dark alley. And from a total stranger.
Then, the pressure around your body was released. The man fell to the ground, a figure on top of him. Punches were blown until he was unconscious. His blonde hair was rough and messed up, plastered to the ground with him. The enormous figure raised to his full height but didn't turn around to face you. Standing there you must've seemed like a Smurf. They were obviously not human, but you saw the hottest muscles adorning their structure. A reptilian skin pattern and shell signaled it was a type of turtle.
