Your hands nervously typed on the small keyboard. Phone in hand, the legs beneath you made their way to the alleyway behind your building. It was quiet and still. Turning your head to see the moon, you noticed how beautiful the stars looked that night.
????: Are you here?
You: Yes. Are you?
????: Turn around.
Your head whipped around. "Leo? Raph?"
Two tall figures stood there, presumably the turtles. You smiled and felt a warm blush creep across your cheeks once again. Out of nowhere a medium-sized shadow popped up from behind a nearby garbage bin. Following suit, a smaller entity made its way down the wall and flipped backward to come closer to you.
"Wait, are these your other brothers?" You whispered.
As if to answer, Leo and Raph stepped into the light. It took you a moment to snap back to reality after taking in their muscular forms once again. Then, your eyes flicked to be met with a new face. He had a purple bandana on, a cheeky grin, and a set of goggles. "Hello, (Y/N)."
You waved shyly. "Hey!" The turtle just stood there awkwardly and fidgeted with his goggle straps. You watched as Raph turned his head to glare at his brother. "You gonna act like a dork all night or talk to her properly? Introduce yourself genius." He snapped. Donnie perked up at his command and began to spill out his words like a waterfall.
"Sorry! The name is Donatello. But you can call me Donnie! Ghee, your name is pretty nice too. I like the ring to it. It'd work well in a poem or song. You ever listen to music? Wait no, that's a dumb question. What I meant to say was-"
Raph shot an elbow into his side and huffed. "Shut up before you hyperventilate yourself."
You tried to hold back a chuckle but the laugh escaped your lips, echoing down the alley. All eyes went to you and the tension seemed to lift slightly. Now you heard a voice join you in your entertainment, laughing along at the brother's embarrassing greeting. It was the same young, male voice that had catcalled you the previous night.
A much smaller turtle sporting an orange bandana burst out from his spot, his arms shaking with excitement. Two green hands wrapped around your body and embraced you in a quick hug. Then, he flipped backward and landed with a dramatic hero pose, raising his arms to appear muscular. "Behold, Mikey the Great! The name's Michelangelo baby. But you just got a V.I.P ticket to my street name: Mikey! Now listen up dudette. We may be teenagers," he lowered his voice to where he thought only you and him could hear. "But we can have adult conversations."
You felt a weak blush making its way across your face as you took in his words. A sly grin came from him but you knew he had no idea what he was talking about. You turned your gaze to meet his and smiled warmly, which was returned. His own cheeks were bright red but he still kept his outgoing nature and tried to pop a few jokes at you.
Before he could say anything too inappropriate or stupid, Raph rammed into him and pushed him away. Groaning, Mikey hid behind Leo. "Idiot." Raph grunted. He looked down to you, almost mustering a grin. "Sorry 'bout him."
Leo just shook his head and Donnie started to look at a monitor on his tablet.
"Hey guys, we need to get moving." Donnie said abruptly. Everyone turned to him in panic. "There is a group of about twenty Purple Dragons moving our way, and they seem to be going directly at us. That's strange..."
That's when you remembered something you had found earlier that day. Gasping, you reached into your hoodie and brought out a blinking device. You knew it had been a tracker and forgot to mention it to anyone before heading out. Giving yourself a mental scolding, you chucked the device at the wall and then tried to stomp on it. Given your non-athletic build, it did nothing. Your eyes went wide and you looked to Raph for help.
"Huh?" He asked. A confused expression was on his face until he saw the device and lunged at it, pounding it into scrap metal.
"A tracker! Of course!" Donnie exclaimed. "Why on earth did you have a tracking device from the Purple Dragons?"
You shrugged. "They probably wanted payback. Raph gave them a pretty good beating the first time we met." Your eyes grew wider. "They must've slipped the thing in my hoodie before he saved me. It must've been that blonde dude."
Raph smirked. He held his arms across his plastron and grumbled.
Leo stepped forward, calling the attention back to him. "Guys, let's go. I'll take (Y/N) with us. I'm sure Master Splinter won't mind her, she seems very trustworthy. Besides, she knows what will happen if she backstabs us." He shot you a menacing glare. You got more shivers and felt like the temperature had dropped a few degrees.
"Chill it fearless." Raph growled. He stepped in front of you protectively. Your eyes wandered along his frame, embracing the sight of this wonderful turtle creature. It made you feel safe behind his hulking stature. "Last I checked, we don't threaten innocents."
Leo looked taken back but then had an expression of understanding. A small smile wiped over his lips before he backed away, hands held defensively in the air. "Ok Raph," he said. "You win."
Raphael stood dumbfounded. It was as if he were surprised himself. Then, you edged yourself out from behind him and waved to Leo. He glanced down at you and waited for what you had to say.
"You have my word Leo. If I wanted to tell anyone I would've already done so." This time it was you who shot him an icy stare. He blinked a few times before walking into the shadows, followed by the two smaller brothers. You thought you heard him mumbling something, but decided it must've been the wind.
Gently, you grabbed Raphael's hand. He shuddered for a moment before his eyes dropped to you. "Hey, you alright? I hope Leo didn't bother you." You said. He stared at you and then replied.
"Nah. Don't worry 'bout it."
