As I taped up my last box and loaded it into my car, I said goodbye to my dog and walked out of my childhood bedroom to go say goodbye to my family before heading to college.
"Okay, I'm off. Going to pick up Ellie and we'll be on the way to Georgia" I announced as I walked into the living room.
"Okay, call us when you get there, I love you" My momma said coming over to hug me.
"Love you too, momma"
My dad and brother then came and joined the hug saying 'love you'.
As I walked out the door I heard a string of 'Goodbye' and 'We love you'.
I walked down the steps to my car, getting in and starting the very short drive down the street to my bestfriend Ellie's house.
When I arrived I got out of the car and walked into her parents house in the middle of their goodbyes.
"Get on over here, Kacey" Her mom said holding out her arms. I walked over and joined the family hug.
After a couple minutes and more goodbyes, we were on the road on our way to Georgia Southern.
Once we arrive almost six hours later, It takes about thirty minutes but we get all of our boxes from the car to our dorm room and start unpacking and organizing. We got here a couple days early so we can get our dorm set how we want it and get enough rest for Monday, out first day.
"What time is it?" Ellie asks
"Almost 7pm" I answered hanging some clothes in the small closet.
"Wanna go get some food? I haven't eaten all day and I'm hungry"
"Me too." I grabbed my keys "Gets go"
We walked to the car and got in and headed to the closest Chick-Fa-La.
After we ordered and get our food, we drove back to the dorm to eat.
We walked in and realized we don't have a table, just two desks the dorm came with. So we got a blanket and layed in on the floor, sorted our food, then started eating.
When we finished I gathered the trash and walked it outside to the trash cans. I walked back to the dorm seeing Ellie pacing around. Which I know she does when she has something on her mind or when she is lying about something.
"Ellie?" I questioned "Are you okay?"
She looked at me "I need to tell you something but you can't freak out and you can't run"
"Okay..?"
"I think" she started but paused
"You think what?"
"Um.. We need to get groceries "
"El, is that all?" I chuckled walked over to her "You didn't have to freak out like that over groceries, we can go get some tomorrow"
"Yeah, okay" she said taking a breath
We get ready for bed since it was getting late and went to sleep.
