Brooklyn's Red Carpet ep. 9- "Nigel, Teen Idol"

Chapter 7

In Mr DeFranko's office, Nigel and Patrick explained to him what happened.

"I think I know now" said Patrick.

"You know what?" said Mr DeFranko gravely.

"I know why I went out of my way like this" said Patrick.

"Is it the same reason you were so upset with me?" said Nigel.

"I wasn't upset with you, Nigel. Not at you directly anyway" said Patrick.

"Yeah, you just wanted to get your share of attention" Mr DeFranko guessed.

"That's what I wanted it to be. But now I know the real reason is... I just didn't want to admit the truth to myself" said Patrick. 

"Feh! And what is the truth?" said Mr DeFranko. 

"How intense my anxiety was. I just wished I could get as much attention as Nigel so I could test myself in crowds of teenagers. It was like that until the point where I was hoping to get surrounded" Patrick explained.

"And what'd you do in the kitchen this afternoon?" said Mr DeFranko.

"Well... you know how Maurice gets when something interferes with his cooking. I actually didn't touch anything in the kitchen. I just made him wiggy and he chased me out" said Patrick.

"Hmm. And then the girls surrounded ya, just like you wanted" said Mr DeFranko.

"You wanna know the terrible part?" said Patrick.

"Yes?" said Nigel.

"I found out my anxiety is a bit too intense. Because when those girl surrounded me, I was scared to death. I thought I was going to have a heart attack" said Patrick.

Nigel rubbed Patrick's arm for comfort. 

"Patrick, I'll let you in on a little secret. The first time those girls stampeded to me, I was frightened too."

"You were?" said Patrick.

"Terrified" said Nigel.

"Oh, Nigel... I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry for being so difficult with you" said Patrick.

"Oh, there now, old boy. It's okay. Now that you've told me... I forgive you. Self-doubt should be forgivable" said Nigel.

"Good. Now you can have crowd anxiety together. Just don't start a mayhem or drive Maurice crazy" said Mr DeFranko.

"Yes sir" said Nigel and Patrick together.
