family backstory ; not much is known about alice and thomas viotto, just that they were two teenagers who were in love. they had louis when they were both young, but they worked it out together. when they had stella however, they realized that parenting was a little harder than they though, especially raising two kids. the four of them lived in pittsburgh together, until thomas had turned 16 and stella was 13. they figured thomas could take care of stella better than they could, and they left. soon after, thomas took off, which left stella in a big house all by herself. she turned to music to keep herself company, picking up the bass at age 14. she had found comfort in the instrument, and has been playing ever since. in a way, she only had her family to thank for that, even though her childhood was rough.

relationship with love interest ; after knowing warren for pretty much his whole life, stella had gotten pretty close to him. along with the other boys, it was like a brother-sister relationship, and they always just got closer. the fateful day chuck left the dunne brothers to go to college, stella was put in on bass, since she had played it already and hung around rehearsals for years. once she joined the band however, the two started spending even more time together, eventually realizing that there was always undoubtedly a spark there between the two of them. after stella had returned from a project she was working on, the two were celebrating, and had a conversation about what they wanted to do about their feelings for one another, then eventually ended up spending the night together. they didn't tell the band about their relationship for a while though, but eventually did, and have stayed together since. even after the group broke up, the pair stayed together and played on some famous tracks together, including daisy's.
