Lars' pov:

The gray scarf that Kirk always wore was wrapped around my neck. I inhaled deeply, and by body shuddered when I exhaled, which then led to yet another coughing fit. As soon as Kirk heard me, he ran into the living room from the kitchen.

"Are you okay?" he asked frantically.

"Yeah, I'm fine!" I replied. "You do this every single time! Relax, Kirk, I'm okay." Kirk sighed softly and sympathetically pat my head, which was draped with blankets.

"Well, I should probably check your temp again," he said. "Do you remember where I put Ash's thermometer?"

"No," I told him. My voice cracked, causing Kirk to giggle. "Shut the fock up, it's not funny!"

"I mean, it kinda is..." he mumbled. I rolled my eyes. My body shivered again, this time even more violently.

"Fock, it's cold," I said.

"You're cold because you have a fever, Lars," Kirk replied caringly, still scrambling to find the thermometer. "Aha! Found it!"

He walked over and sat on the couch next to me. We were at Ash's house while her parents were away. Her and the others were out running errands, so it was just the two of us for now.

"Okay, sit still for me, baby" Kirk muttered. He pressed the thermometer to my temple. The frigid metal felt almost painful on my warm skin. The thermometer beeped and Kirk read the temperature. "You're getting worse, 102 degrees..." he said. "You need to take those blankets off."

"Noooooooo, I'm freezingggg!" I whined.

"I know, but you're just gonna keep getting worse. I'm sorry, I know this isn't how you wanted to spend your weekend."

"Don't be," I reassured Kirk. "I don't care as long as I'm with you."

"Aw, you're sweet," he said. He tucked my hair behind my ear and kissed my cheek softly before he stood up to put the thermometer away again.

"You missed," I teased.

"No, I didn't, and I told you to take the blankets off."

"But I don't want to. And you did miss."

"Lars, take off the goddamn blankets!" he said playfully as he walked over and tugged them away.

"Nooooooo," I complained. I felt goosebumps forming on my arms as the cold air hit my skin. He dropped a thinner, fuzzy red one on my lap, and I quickly wrapped myself in it.

"I know you're cold. I'm sorry," Kirk told me. "I'll tell you what, we can cuddle and watch a movie together, and if you're still cold you can have them back. Deal?"

"Okay," I said. I scooted over on the couch to make room for him. Kirk sat the blankets down on the floor and sat next to me.

"What do you want to watch?" he asked.

"Hmmm..." I thought. "I don't really care, you pick."

"Okay!" Kirk said happily. He, of course, quickly picked some horror movie and started playing it. He shifted us to lay down, and I rested my head on his chest. Kirk put one arm around my shoulder, and the other around my hip. I wrapped my arms around his waist. He began to softly and slowly rub my arm. I felt his fingers brush up against my goosebumps, making my body quiver slightly. He pulled the red fuzzy blanket over the both of us. I started coughing again, which made Kirk sit up abruptly, almost jumping from the couch. His sudden movement had shifted my head down to his lap.

"Lars, don't fucking cough on me!" he said. I was still coughing and hacking loudly and aggressively.

"I- I'm s-sorry!" I tried to say, though the words were broken by my coughs. Kirk grabbed me from under my arms and slid me upwards to sit. He rubbed my back and stroked my hair as the last few weak ones left my body.
