Flashback- 1st September 1998.
Hermione smiles as she looks at the scarlet engine of The Hogwarts Express, Hogwarts had been fully rebuilt within a month of the war ending and Hermione had been asked to come back to do her 7th year after not being able to, at first she had been hesitant to return due to the trauma from everything that had happened during the war but realised that she would need to do her N.E.W.Ts in order to become a Healer, Harry and Ron had also been asked but they had decided to become Aurors, they wouldn't have to do any of the usual qualifications to become Aurors because of the war, they would begin training today.
Ginny had decided to also come back to do her 7th year, along with Luna, what had come a huge surprise was the second letter that had come along with her welcome back letter, she had been rewarded with the Head Girl title, Hermione had always hoped that she would be head girl when she was at Hogwarts but it didn't seem that important towards her last year. The badge was pinned on the front of her robes now, Ginny had said that it shouldn't have been such a surprise as she was the obvious choice.

Hermione places Crookshanks down on the seat of the compartment that Ginny, Luna and herself had decided to sit in for the journey to Hogwarts, Hermione was happy to have been reunited with her beloved cat, the Weasley's had kept him safe throughout the war and they had given him back to her after Fred's funeral.
Hermione moves towards the door and is about to leave when Ginny and Luna re enter the compartment, "Aren't you staying with us?" Ginny asks with questioning look, "I have to go and meet the Head Boy and the rest of the prefects in the prefects carriage, but I should be able to come sit with you for a little bit afterwards." Hermione tells Ginny who nods before taking a seat next to Luna, "Do you know who the head boy is?" Ginny asks as Crookshanks jumps onto her lap.
"No, the letter just said that he was from a different house." Hermione tells the two girls, "Did the letter say anything else?" Ginny asks as she strokes Crookshanks' fur, "That we would be sharing everything except a dorm room." Hermione reveals with a sigh, "You have to share a common room and the bathroom with them? I hope that they are nice enough." Ginny says with a surprised tone, "I just wish that I could stay in the Gryffindor dorm." Hermione says with a sigh, the whistle of the train rings through the train and the train starts to move, "I guess I better go." Hermione says with a smile towards her friends, "Good luck." Luna says with a smile.
