They had always been there, as far as you can remember, Leaking like a busted pen into the crevices of your memories. Leaving purplish black stains you couldn't erase, no matter how hard you tried. You were glued to their sides, just as much as they were yours growing up.

Always a little older, faster, and stronger than you in every aspect.

Whisking you away on grand adventures. Through the enchanted forests of the nearby park. Equipped with Long skinny sticks that served as swords. And pockets full of gray rocks that were able to cast powerful magic. They taught you the ways of the make-believe world they created.

One where Dragons soared through the skies. And monsters laid in wait to snatch up helpless maidens. Knights and wizards were in a constant battle to rule over lands that had yet to be discovered. A place that gifted you with endless possibilities to seek a grand adventure of your own.

But as always you were shunned to the role of a lonely princess.

Locked away in a tower, waiting for your knight and wizard to aid you in escape. The story was something close to being locked away by an evil step-parent. Who promised you to a prince before you were born. And your only chance at escape was the blond hair knight and a curly green-haired wizard. Two people who should be mortal enemies.

But willing to work together to rescue the princess.

And every time you played this game, it was always the same outcome. They did it, but only for you. Your call was enough for them to put aside petty differences long enough to free you from the tower in the sky. Willing to fight off those dragons and slimy monsters, all in a race to be the first one to rescue you.

From what you remember, to win your hand in marriage.

On, those days your tower wasn't just the largest rock Katsuki could find in the park. But it was the highest tower in the deepest parts of the enchanted woods. Protected by a river of lava and goblins who lived under the bridge to the castle door. Ready and waiting to tear anyone who was dumb enough to get close to shreds.

You vividly remember the way you wanted to have a turn at being a knight, ready to rescue a maiden in waiting.

Only to have your idea laughed at by the blond-haired boy.

Because you were a princess and you needed to be saved. Or so that's what he told you. That you were too much of a scardy cat to fight an actual dragon or kill off a goblin. You couldn't even be a wizard, because that was what Deku was supposed to do.

No, your job was to wait around and yell for help until they found you.

As much as you felt disappointed in his words, you still played along because you just wanted to be included. Playing the part of the helpless princess and waiting for your heroes to save you.

Not much longer after that argument you could hear your mother calling the three of you back home for lunch. Your game was on pause until you could eat a proper meal. She sat the three of you up just under the shade of the massive tree in your backyard. The sturdy towering oak. Large enough to support the weight of the new swing your parents had just bought you. While providing a nice place to relax and enjoy your lunch in the summer heat.

They were the reason for most of your childhood memories, but he was the sole reason behind most of the trauma.

Because lurking just underneath those wonderful memories of fighting dragons. And playing make-believe in the park. when you were five, you also remember the way he pulled your hair. Tugging harshly on the pigtails your mother put you in that morning. You can remember the way his laugh carried around the open park. As tears welled up in your eyes from the pain on your scalp.

He called you a crybaby when you brought up his roughhousing. Taking his frustration by being called out on you once again. Pushing you backward, and stealing the biggest bite of your strawberry cream sandwich. Laughing once again at the way your mouth hung open in disbelief.

He only pretended to be sorry when you ran inside and told your mother what he had done. Huffing and puffing like a real-life dragon when he had to apologize to you in front of everyone. His face was red and his hands balled into fists at his side. His mother slapped the back of his head as punishment. He gritted the words out, but you could tell he was still angry at you. His new mission was to make your life as miserable as possible as long as he was around.

Because it only got worse from then on out.

The endless family dinners, birthday parties. And even sleepovers he made sure that you cried at least once. He would always say something that would hurt your feeling. Calling you silly childish names that stung like a mortal wound at your age.

He would go out of his way to steal your favorite plush animal you snuggled into bed with. nd throw it across the room for no reason other than to hear you whine. Or if you were at dinner, he would pinch your arm and wait for you to cry out. Just so he could make fun of you and run off to play with Izuku before you could blame him for anything.

To be a knight, he was really mean to the princess he liked to save.

But after a while, he wasn't satisfied with just bullying you anymore.

Izuku was kind, unlike his blond haired friend.

He had more than enough time in his day to show you kindness when Katsuki wouldn't. He let you nap in peace, let you snuggle up under his baby blanket, and stayed quiet when you were sleeping. His mom made you both your favorite snacks, and he let you pick out the games you played together. He even let you play with his super cool All Might figure, that even Katsuki couldn't touch.

But those lazy afternoons at Izuku's came to a halt as soon as Katsuki figured out you like playing with Izuku more.

Suddenly he was there, stirring up the same trouble you thought you were rid of. He started to bully him too. Dead set on taking out everything from his anger to using poor Izuku as practice for his quirk. He had to a point to prove you assume. To show you both that he was the superior choice as a friend, and you both were dumb to choose each other instead of him.
