"We should probably head over to this person to get the reward then return home," Gray said as they started heading towards town.

Lucy nodded and followed him.

"I wonder what everyone was doing while we were gone?" Lucy asked as she looks at the letter. "Probably worried, I mean Natsu, Erza, and Happy were with us and obviously they would figure out that we were missing," Gray responded.

Lucy nodded as she continues to scrutinize the letter. "Why do you keep looking at that letter?" Gray asked. "The handwriting, I feel like I've seen it before," Lucy responded looking intently at the letter.

"Could it be someone we know then? If it is, then they played a very dirty joke on us, but it was worth it," Gray smiled.

"It could be..." Lucy replied putting the letter away.

As they walked a few more minutes, they finally arrived at their destination of the mystery woman who gave them their letter.

The woman lived surprisingly close to the Heartfilia Konzern. "This place brings back so many memories of mom and dad. Happy and sad ones. Only if you guys were still here..." Lucy thought as a tear dropped on her face.

"L-Lucy! W-why are you c-crying?!" Gray exclaimed. "Oh.. haha, I'm sorry. It's just... this place brings a lot of memories for me," she replied wiping her face. "Anyways, let's go meet this lady."

They knocked on the door, but there was no answer. They tried again, but this time, the door opened to see a woman no one thought was alive.

"Welcome to my home, Lucy Heartfilia... Gray Fullbuster," the woman said as she smiled.

"M-mom...!" Lucy said and bursted into tears and quickly gave her a hug. "I.. thought you... were... gone!" Lucy said between sobs. "I'm sorry for not telling you sooner," Layla said as she patted her daughters back.

"How come you faked your death?" Lucy asked. "I'll tell you later, but first, come inside and make yourself at home," Layla said motioning them to come in.

They entered the house and sat on the sofa.

"Ok, the reason I faked my death was because I needed everyone to think that I was dead so I can continue working on the portal, do you have the note?" Layla asked and Lucy nodded her head and took the note out and gave it to her.

"Ok since your dad and everyone else was being suspicious of me going places all the time and not having much contact with them like I usually do and lock myself out, I was afraid that they would try and spy on me and see what was going on."

"Then they'll find out about my portal and I didn't want anyone to know about it, but only one person. And that was you Lucy. I couldn't tell your dad because if I did, he'll would probably tell me that I should use it for money so we can earn more. And you know how he is with money."

"I didn't tell the others because they'll probably spread it out and eventually, your father will hear it. You were the only one I could trust. Now that you know, please forgive me about faking my own death and please keep the secret just between you guys," Layla said.

"Of course I'll forgive you mom, I love you. And about the secret, don't worry, I'm good at keeping them. You too Gray, tell anyone about it and you're dead," Lucy said giving a death glare to Gray, who gulped in fright.

"And for your reward-"

"You don't have to give it to us, the only reward I need is you. Being here and alive," Lucy smiled. "I raised you well Lucy... very well," Layla said and stood up from the couch and gave her another hug, but this time, she pulled Gray in with them as well.

"Go home safely!" Layla said as she waved goodbye. "We will. I'll visit you all the time mom, be safe okay!" Lucy grinned as she waved her goodbye.

"It was really a shock to find out that your mom is alive," Gray said. "It really was, but I'm happy that she is," Lucy smiled.

The rest of the walk was quiet until they bumped into someone.

"Hey watch where....!" Gray trailed off as he was facing Lucy. "Oh.. sorry Lucy. I thought you were beside me," he said as he pointed to his right side to feel soft skin. He turned right and saw Lucy there standing shocked.

"Lucy! Then you..... what... when... huh!?" Gray exclaimed in confusion. He looked next to the Lucy in front of him and saw himself. "I didn't know there was a mirror in...." he trailed off again as he poked the 'mirror' and realized it wasn't a mirror.

"Watch were you're poking at kid," his look-a-like said. Gray stepped back a little. "Lucy.... what's going on?" he asked. "I think... we just met our future selves..." Lucy responded.

Gomen minna for the late update!! I was really busy these past few days! I hope you'll forgive me about that.

And also just a heads up, I probably won't be able to update this story in the beginning of next month or any other stories. The reason is because I will be going home to the Philippines and I'm not sure if I can update while I'm there. I'll probably be able to update again on July. Gomen if it's that long...

Anyways I hope you guys liked this chapter. Jā matane! (^-^)/
