Wrong side of a war (König x reader)

Chapter 8

Tik tik tik tik

You mumbled and groaned before shifting,

"PSSSP!"

You grumbled,

"What?"

"We need to go Major!"

You opened your eye and saw  Soap by the window. You then realized who you were on,

"König wake up!"

You got up and hopped in the front while Soap made his way to the passenger seat. König groaned and got up before fixing his hood.

"I didn't want to wake you up but everyone just left."

Your eyes widened and König didn't have enough time to buckle up by the time you slammed your foot on the accelerator. It threw him back and Soap gripped the bar as you went full speed to catch up with the others. Then you slowed down when you were behind Price,

"So König, Major did anything happen last night?"

You remembered last night getting slightly flustered but you then lied,

"Nope, I and König just slept."

The drive was painfully silent and you wished Soap started a conversation about anything but last night. The scenery wasn't the most exciting but you broke the silence,

"So Soap how did you and Ghost meet?"

"We met on a mission and he saved me a few times even against Graves. I apologise for his snarky attitude, when you get to know him he's nice just protective of the people he cares for."

"It's ok, I'm like a new coworker to him and from what I heard Gaz and Price didn't talk about me often for good reason at least."

König piped in the conversation,

"What was the reason?"

You gripped the steering wheel, remembering the torment you went through and the number of sleepless nights.

"I left the military after an accident and I went to hide away in a different country. It took them a while to locate me, but I'm glad I could help out. Hopefully, this is the last time I have to be on this type of battlefield."

Soap looked at your hands that were gripping tightly onto the wheel,

"Are you ok? I can drive if you want."

Everything suddenly went silent, you kept on driving and you felt someone's hand on your shoulder. You wanted to look but you kept your hands on the wheel, your knuckles were turning white. You noticed the car in front of you stopped so you braked.

Then you heard noise, Soap and König were yelling which made you jump,

"What?"

You turned to look and König then Soap,

"Get out of the driver's seat."
