I wake up stretching with a loud yawn.

"Good morning, sleep well?" I hear King ask while I'm tiredly rubbing my eyes, I slowly nod. I hear him giggle a little as I open my eyes with another yawn.

"What's so funny?" I mumble, he floats over to me holding something behind his back, it's clearly a box of some kind. "What's that?" He has a bright smile across his face.

"Happy 13th birthday Y/n!" He happily says as he places the box on my lap. 13? Yeah, that's right... I've been with him for 3 years now, haven't I?

"That's today?" I tiredly ask while looking down at the box.

"Mhm! Open it, I can change it if you don't like it." I glance up to see his closed eye smile, I tilt my head while I start to open the box....

"What's this?" I'm confused on what it is, I just see a (color) cloth, I pick it up.

"What do you think it is?" Underneath that cloth was, wait...no, it's not just a cloth. I emptied the box, and a bright smile crossed my face.

"It's beautiful thank you!"

"I'm glad you like it." I sit up and hug King before wondering off to go change. By the time I get back he's already fixed breakfast, he did this for my last two birthdays as well, waking me up with a gift, making my favorite breakfast and having the entire day planned, giving me random gifts throughout it.

After eating breakfast and flying around for a while we land in an open grass field, and he gets a smirk cross his face.

"What?" I asked even though I can already tell he's about to give me a second gift.

"Hm? I just thought you'd like the flowers here."

"Flowers?" I look down and there's tuns of spider lilies, white roses, gloxinias, and lotus flowers covering the field. I look shocked, I know when we landed there wasn't a single flower here.

"Was I wrong?" I look up at him and once again his hands are behind his back, I tilt my head staring at his sly looking smile.

"The flowers are pretty." I can see the top of something peeking out from behind his shoulders, I would say it's a box, but it looks rounded, and it's draped with a cloth. "What's that?"

"What's what? Oh!" He pulls the cloaked thing out from behind him. "You mean this?" It's a very strange shape and it's probably about Kings height.

"Yeah."

"Well, how about you find out." He holds it out towards me, and I pull the cloth off, showing a weapon I've wanted for a pretty long time now.

"Whoa! Really!" I quickly grab the scythe from his hands and trace my fingers along it.

"Yep! Just be careful though, it's kind of sharp." He warns me a bit too late as I've already cut my finger on one of the blades. He sighs, shaking his head as he notices.

"Are you going to teach me how to use it?" I ask, looking brightly and curiously up at him.

"Of course, I am, or at least I'll try my best to." He ruffles his hair kind of nervously, he doesn't have a clue on how to use this thing does he.

"Can we start now?"

"Really? You don't want to-"

"I know it'll be a lot different from using a spear or a sword but I know how to use both of those so it shouldn't be too difficult to learn!" I hold it over my head admiring the way the sun reflects off the blades. King sighs.

"Yeah, we can start now." King looks defeated.

"Yay!"

"First off I'm pretty sure you're holding it wrong." I bring it back down in front of me looking at where my hands are, and I move them to the two handles. "Now I made it where the sides can split apart into two smaller scythes, go ahead and try it." I nod and pull the two halves apart. We went on and on for hours with him trying to teach me how to use it and before we knew it, it was already dark. Now that was a fun day.

It wasn't until I was about 16 when I was finally able to beat King with my scythe and to be honest, he was both upset and proud of this defeat.
