Friends

"Hey." I said as I walked into my boyfriends room. "Hey Em." He said with his eyes not leaving the screen of his phone. "You okay?" I asked. "Mhm." He hummed in response. "You sure?" "Yeah. I'm fine." He said, still with his eyes on his phone. "Josh you wanna do something today?" I asked. "Eh, Jaden has Nessa coming over. Maybe we can just like... hang out with them or something." He said. "All right." I said. He looked at me, "Wanna come hang out with me till they get back?" He asked. "Yeah." I said with a smile.

I walked over and sat on his bed next to him, and I laid my head on his shoulder, and he placed his hand on my knee. "Soooo... What were you doing before I got here?" I asked with a small smile just making conversation. "Nothing important." He said bluntly. "Oh, okay." I said. He stayed quiet. "Are you sure you're okay? You just have been seeming off recently. Especially today." "I'm fine Ember! Just leave me the fuck alone!" He yelled. I flinched at the loud voice and he looked at me with softened eyes. "I'm sorry Em, I didn't mean to yell." He said. I nodded softly. "I just don't want to talk about it." He said. "Okay." I said softly. "You know I didn't mean to yell at you." He said. "I know." I said softly.

I laid my head back on his shoulder and we both just scrolled through our phones. I was on tikok and I kept seeing videos of people shipping Josh and Nessa. "Ha, this is so weird. People are making ship edits of you and Ness." I said. "Huh... weird." He said. "Yeah." I said softly. I continued scrolling through tiktok, and we heard the front door open. "Looks like Jaden and Ness are here." I said. "Yeah. You wanna go out and see them." "Yeah, sure." I said with a small sigh. "You okay?" He asked. "Yeah, I'm fine." I said with a small smile. "Okay." He said.

We both got up and went out to where we found Jaden and Nessa. We said hi ti them both and I hugged Nessa. I honestly loved the fact that not only were her and I best friends, who are also dating guys who are best friends, but also are really close with each others guys. Like normally that would be a bad thing... at least in some cases. But not now. It makes it so nice because we can all hang out literally whenever. And it just is great. Nessa is my number one best friend, and Jaden is a close second. Obviously so is Josh. "We were gonna watch a movie or something if you guys wanna join." Jaden said. I looked at Josh and he looked at Nessa. "All right, sounds great." He said. He then looked at me. "Right?" He asked. "Yeah, of course." I said with a smile.

We all went to the couch, and Jaden sat down, with Nessa on his left. Then Josh was next to her, and I was next to him. I held Josh's hand as I laid my head on his shoulder. Jaden picked a movie and we all agreed that it sounded like a good one to watch. Then we just sat back and watched the movie. Halfway through Josh randomly got up. "Where are you going?" I asked. "Oh, just to get water." He said. "Oh, okay." "Oh, I'll come with. I was just about to get a drink myself." Nessa said. "Okay." Josh said as he shrugged. Jaden went to pause the movie then Josh quickly said, "Oh, you guys don't have to pause it." "Okay." Jaden said as he shrugged. They both left the room and went to the kitchen, and Jaden and I continued watching the movie.

*Few Minutes Later*

"I wonder what's taking them so long." I said with a small chuckle. "Oh they might be waiting for our ice machine to despense ice. It's completely messed up and takes forever to despense enough for even one cup." He said with a chuckle. "Oh." I said. I shook it off. I mean, for all I know they are just cathing up. I know they are super close, so they could just be talking.

*Few more minutes*

It had been probably a total of 15 minutes, and that's when Nessa and Josh came back. "Sorry, the ice despenser was taking forever, and we started talking and kinda just kinda got into a full conversation." Josh said. I shrugged it off. "Yeah. Makes sense." Jaden said. We went back to watching the movie and I laid my head back on Josh's shoulder. We cotinued the movie, and then we finished the movie.

As it was over, Jaden and Nessa went to Jaden's room, and Josh and I went to Josh's room. I quickly changed into one of Josh's hoodies, and a pair of my spandex shorts that I had left here. "Hey, I'll be right back. I just gotta talk to Jaden about something." Josh said. "Oh, okay." I said. He walked out of the room and closed the door, and I climbed into Josh's bed. I went on my phone and scrolled through instagram just seeing some of my friends posts. I looked at the time and realized it was late. Like after midnight late. So, I decided I'd just go to sleep since Josh was still talking to Jaden. My eyes got heavy and I soon fell asleep.
