"Kirari, I'm here," Sayaka said softly. "I'm sorry I'm late. We were dismissed slightly later today."

Kirari sat at her chair in the Student Council. She didn't rush to hug Sayaka as usual, which bothered Sayaka.

"Wonderful," Kirari said sarcastically. "My girlfriend is not only frustratingly rigid in terms of mental capacity but it appears that the word 'punctuality' doesn't exist in her thesaurus." (Or should it be dictionary?!)

Sayaka felt a pang of hurt in her chest. No matter how bad of a mood Kirari was in, she never took it out on Sayaka. She always insisted that Sayaka made her feel better.

"I-Is something wrong?" Sayaka asked worriedly, biting her lip.

"Nothing," Kirari dismissed icily. "Just be useful for once and make me a cup of tea."

Be useful for once?

'I don't understand......' Sayaka thought as she felt tears spring up in her eyes. 'Why is she being like this? It doesn't make sense......'

If Sayaka had paid attention to Kirari, she would've noticed a hint of guilt in her girlfriend's eyes.

Sayaka finished making the tea and placed the exquisite teacup in front of Kirari.

Kirari didn't even drink it and scrunched up her nose.

"I never knew you'd become so incompetent, Sayaka."

Sayaka felt a feeling of dread overcome her.

While her mind was bombarded with a torrent of thoughts, Kirari watched her girlfriend's reaction and clenched her fists under the table.

Was this really right?

Kirari didn't like it when people hurt Sayaka, but here she was doing it.

Taking a deep breath, Kirari maintained her indifference facade and continued, "My girlfriend should be able to be punctual and make proper tea. If you can't do that, maybe you aren't suited for the role."

Sayaka turned to face Kirari sharply, tears stinging her eyes.

"No matter, I'll just find another," Kirari chuckled. "After all, we were never girlfriends, were we?"

Sayaka felt the tears cascade down her cheeks.

"I'll just find another plaything," Kirari finished, tilting her head mockingly at Sayaka. "For now, I've gotten bored of you. I'll find someone else."

"I......"

It appeared that Sayaka was rendered completely speechless. Her nails dug so deeply into her fists that they started to bleed. Her face turned ashen white as her logical mind struggled to process reality.

Was Kirari truly abandoning her?

"B-But...you said that you'd always love me..." Sayaka said, her voice breaking into a whisper. "Did I do something wrong? Am I not good enough? What changed? What......"

Kirari felt her heart break as she watched her girlfriend's state of mind break down slowly because of her.

Fuck this prank. Hurting Sayaka wasn't worth it. Kirari was about to reply, but realised the silence she gave Sayaka while thinking broke her girlfriend even more.

"Did the Tower mean nothing to you," Sayaka whispered. "Because it meant everything to me."

Kirari gazed at Sayaka, trying to express why she had done it. Trying to explain that this was a prank and that she had been stupid.

But she found herself unable to express it.

It seemed that seeing Sayaka hurt because of her and taken away Kirari's ability to speak.

Sayaka nodded at Kirari with a hint of anger and disbelief at her eyes.

"Alright," she whispered. "Fine."

Sayaka turned and rushed out of the Student Council room, just as Kirari finally broke out her trance to speak.
