sapnap drags the music back another few seconds, rewinding to watch the clip for what feels like the millionth time. he hardly posts on youtube now so when he does he feels like he's having to learn how to edit all over again. sometimes he seriously contemplates getting an editor but then he worries that they won't do it right and it'll just be wasted money. regardless, he's spent the last fifteen minutes trying to fade out this music and he's getting pretty bored of hearing punz's voice.

it's late, no light pouring in from outside other than that from the streetlamps, and the lounge light is off too so the room would be practically black if it weren't for the glare of sapnap's laptop screen. the contrast in light is starting to hurt his eyes but he's gotten used to ignoring computer-triggered eye strain by now.

george is beside him on the couch, curled up on his side with his head on the cushion no more than two inches from the side of sapnap's thigh. the ravenette thinks he might be asleep, since he hasn't moved in at least an hour.

sapnap keeps getting the random urge to poke george in the ear but he holds himself back since he knows that the brit sometimes struggles to sleep because of rosie and other unknown reasons. still, his hand is urging to poke.

audio playback of punz's voice screams into his headphones, something about a mob, and sapnap flinches a little at the unexpected loud noise, having not realised that the editing software was still running when he'd zoned out.

in response to sapnap's subtle movement, he hears a muffled "wha'?"

it's so quiet that it's almost completely cut off by his headphones but sapnap still just hears it. he still doesn't think george is awake, more in some halfway space where he still isn't really coherent.

"nothing," he whispers quietly, reaching out to brush his hand gently through george's hair. it makes the brit hum happily. "go back to sleep, georgie."

"m'kay."

and just like that, george is gone again.

sapnap smiles at the brunette, moving his hand away once again to return to his editing.

he doesn't think he's ever even going to post this video, unless maybe he goes back and re-edits the whole thing, because he's finished twelve minutes' worth of content and hates practically every second.

some of the clips are funny, sure, and he knows that the fans would love some punznap (they'd enjoy content regardless, honestly) but it's just not on par with the quality he wants for his channel.

i mean, with videos like 'minecraft, but it's raining cats and dogs...' to compare to, he has to post only the best!

sapnap smiles amusedly at his own silly thoughts, lightly shaking his head as if to push them out of the way.

he focuses back on the task at handing, undoing the last music edit and rewinding again.

he does it so many times that he thinks the song is slowly becoming a running background noise to his thoughts and then, when he finally gets it done, he spends even longer trying to cut out all of the jokes they made that weren't safe for youtube.
