Elizabeth POV:
"Why would she just leave without telling anyone, Dad?" I heard a voice say quietly.
My head hurts for some reason, maybe it's because I was sleeping on the ground.
"Wait, if I'm sleeping on the ground in the woods, why does this bed feel so comfortable?" my mind said, making my eyes wide. I looked around, hoping to God that I wasn't kidnapped, but saw my family.
"Hey guys," I said quietly, but they all gave me angry looks. I looked over until my eyes landed on Ryan, who had tears running down his eyes.
"You promised you wouldn't leave," he whimpered quietly, making my heart break at the sight.
With a breath, I walked over to him, but he took a step back like I was a disease. I dropped my hand slowly, cocking my head to the side.
"Rya-" I started, but he screamed—a long scream that made me jump with fear, as did the others.
"YOU JUST WANT TO LEAVE JUST LIKE MAMA DID. YOU PROMISED ME, ELI, THAT YOU WON'T LEAVE, BUT YOU DID!" he screamed, then started sobbing, his body shaking, making me feel ten times worse than before.
"I HATE YOU," he said. "I hate you, I hate you, I hate you," he continued while looking directly at me.
I took a step forward, but he just turned and ran up to his room, with me chasing after him.
"Ryan, I'm sorry," I said, banging on his door, but heard quiet cries.
"If you're sorry, you shouldn't have left," I heard Zack say.
I turned over at him, getting pissed at the moment. I still didn't want to talk to them for lying to me.
"And you shouldn't have kept lies away from me," I snapped at him.
He looked shocked for a moment before laughing. "You're trying to tell me you left the house for some stupid secret," he said quietly.
"ANSWER ME, ELIZABETH!" he snapped, making me jump back with fear. I have never seen him like this before.
"Fucking stupid," he said before walking away from me into his room.
I looked back at the others, who also had disappointed looks, especially Dad. The others walked away from me, not before glaring or mumbling words under their breaths.
"You should have thought things through, Elizabeth," Dad said, still looking at the ground.
"We kept it from you for a reason; we didn't want you scared of us, but you had other plans, didn't you?" he said quietly, cocking his head to the side.
I looked away, knowing full well that I messed up. He stood up before I could say anything and walked away with the others.
Well this is sad
