🝮 Etstukä POV 🝮

I sat on the sand mindlessly, my slim fingers running through the beige grain below my teal coloured body. Breathing heavily, I looked up, taking a glance at all the elegant Ilus swimming before me.

Absent-mindedly, I started to sing. The chords of each of our ancestors, each of our previous leaders, each of our chiefs. My fingers still roamed through the damp sand below me, my gaze not leaving the llu riding through the water in front of me.

Just then, I heard the horn blow

The horn that signals newcomers

I stood up from my position on the floor, walking to the main island. Newcomers. It's been almost 10 years since we've had some of those.

My heart almost bursted out of my chest. They're other Na' vi that aren't from the Metkayina region. Possibly even more vicious sky-people that are coming here for more 'research'.

When I got to the main island, hopping on the wooden pole to avoid the crowds of my Metkayina people and try to spot Aonung or Tsireya. When I finally got to the top of the marui's, I saw 5 Ikran, coming to a landing on the floor below me. Off came what looked like a family of forest Na'vi.

First off the Ikran was what I was assuming was the father. Then the mother, with a child clinging onto her legs so helplessly. Then a teenage girl. Then two teenage boys.

They looked different to us. These Na'vi were more of a deeper shade of blue, unlike the light teal color my Metkayina people possess. They had more lean bodies with thinner, shorter tails.

"Etstukä!" I heard Tsireya call from below me. I turned towards the sound, my gaze leaving the family of 6 that stood below me . Tsireya signalled for me to come closer to her, for me to stand with her. And so I did. I jump down walk to where they were and stood in between Rotxo and Aonung as mother and father walked through the large crowd of people, making their way to the newcomers.

Just then, I made eye contact with...him.

The eldest son of the father that stood before me. He gave me an awestruck look that made me want to punch him right there and then. His alluring, yellow eyes stared deep into my emerald ones. I snarled at him, just like I would do to any other boy that looked at me the way he did.

"Who are you?" I heard my mother, Ronal, say. "Why do you come here? To our land?"

Just then, something in my brain clicked. I instantly recognized the older, blue man standing before me. He was Toruk Makto.

He was Jake Sully.

I looked over at Tsireya, who was too busy fantasising over one of the teenage boy standing next to his Ikran to pay any attention to what I was about to say.

"I come here to seek shelter for my family, Jake spoke, holding his hands up to a shoulder level. "I come here to protect my family, Ronal. I seek refuge." Jake performed a gentle bow, motioning the classic 'I see you' gesture. My parents did the same shortly after.
