~~~~Y/N's POV~~~~
Those two weeks did not, in fact, fly by. It was like torture, going to my old job every day. But, I made it, and now here I am, waking up on my first day! My phone buzzes with a text from Ms. Steinfeld as I get ready.
HS: Let's meet at the Apple Store when they open instead of you coming here first!
Y/N: Okay, see you there!
By the time I'm dressed and ready to go, I can feel my nerves ramping up again. This is such a huge change for me, and it would be scary even if it wasn't that I’m working for a major celebrity. The fact that I am just makes my nerves twice as high. Before I can psych myself out, I jump in the car and head to meet Hai- Ms. Steinfeld. I'm trying to remind myself to call her that or "Boss", because it feels more professional, and I don't really need to get too friendly when I already think she's gorgeous. I pull into the lot 15 minutes before they open and check my phone for a second before I see her standing in front of my car. She waves me over to the door, even though they're still closed, and I realize that for her, maybe they aren't. My suspicions are confirmed when the door swings open upon my arrival, and an employee waves us in before locking the door behind us.
"Hello, Miss Steinfeld. What can we do for you today?" The employee says to her, and shakes her and my hands.
"Hi! We are here to get my assistant a work phone and sync it up to my phone, if we can!" Ms. Steinfeld smiles at the employee so warmly, it makes me smile too. After a few minutes, I'm learning the newest iPhone, and Ms. Steinfeld is setting everything up payment and service-wise. We leave the store just after opening time, and she stops me just short of my car.
"So, I noticed these past couple of weeks that your messages aren't blue; do you need a more in depth rundown of that new phone?" She grins at me teasingly.
"My old job had iPhones too. They were ancient, but I'm sure I can figure this thing out!" I hold the phone up and smile.
"Okay, but if you have questions, don't hesitate! Follow me to my place, and we'll go over some more stuff. You're my whole schedule today!" She turns toward her own car, and I follow her home. The drive is quicker than I'm expecting, and when we turn into her place, I'm eager to learn whatever I can about my new job. Her home is absolutely gorgeous. I park in front, behind her car, and I try my best not to look too awestruck by everything, but I'm sure I'm failing. We head into her kitchen, and it is all I can do not to audibly gasp. It's absolutely incredible. Professional grade appliances, gorgeous lighting fixtures, and beautiful cabinetry. The marble countertops are pristine, and a couple of laptops are sitting on the island, with a stack of paperwork in between them. For the next few hours, we get to work. It's pretty much like any first day, training info overload, signing paperwork and learning the basics of the job. By the early afternoon, I'm starting to get hungry, and before I can say anything, my stomach grumbles.
"You wanna break for lunch?" Ms. Steinfeld laughs.
"I guess my stomach wants to," I say sheepishly.
"No problem, let's order grubhub."
"Will do!" I reach for my new work phone and catch her smiling at me. "What?"
"I'm glad I hired you."
"Oh. Uh, me too." I know I’m blushing.
"Sorry, I mean, just that you're already taking initiative and doing the little things like that, I'm glad," she elaborates.
"Well, my job is to make things easier for you now." I grin as I pull up the app and order food. My work phone has her grubhub account logged into it already, that was one of the first things we set up. Once the order is in, I check my personal phone, and see a message from Taylor.
