1 week later...

Today's the official day that I start my job as a vet at 'Heads & Tails, Local Vet Clinic'.

Tiarni offered to look after Azaria while I was at work today, which is really kind of her. Tiarni actually has work too, at the local town pool, but she said that Azaria and Kenna can go swimming. Tiarni is really a kind person, I think we will be best friends.

I sighed while waiting at an intersection. I tap my fingers on the steering wheel along with the music.

🎶 Your over my head, I'm outta my mind,

Thinking I was born in the wrong time,

Your one of a kind, everything is so throwback-ish 🎶

The song 'Classic' is playing by MKTO. One of my favourite songs!

I turn right into the front carpark of the vet clinic and my stomach starts to feel uneasy.

Once I've pulled into the carpark, I unbuckle my seatbelt and a shiver runs down my spine.

After a few moments of sitting in silence, other than my loud breathing, I finally get out my car.

I brush the dust off of my plain black shirt, and black jeans while slinging my handbag over my shoulder.

I slowly make my way to the front door.

I think my stomach has a problem? A butterfly problem?

Another shiver runs down my spine and I slowly reach for the doorknob.

C'mon you derp! Just freaking open the door!

I push the door open and walk in trying my best to look happy and confident, when in my mind I'm more freaked out than a kid on their first day of school.

I walk up to the counter and my eyes lock with a familiar face.

Where have I seen this girl before?

Orange hair, freckles, sea blue eyes, glasses?

Have I seen her before? She looks oddly familiar? Does she know me??

I then noticed that I probably look like an unconfident goof. I got the courage to actually speak.

"Um... Hello. I am the new vet. Just wondering.... Uh... Have I seen you before?", I asked her.

She gave me a slight smile while tilting her head to the side a little.

"Grace", she said softly.

I remember that voice. Slightly high pitched, but sweet and smooth. I checked her name tag on her right breast pocket to be sure. And yes, I was right. That voice belongs too:

Kaylee Boyce.

Kaylee Boyce and I went to primary school together when we were in years 6&7. We both got bullied... Which is a long story, but I guess I have to explain it now.
