When Harry arrived at the hospital, after driving like a maniac and almost causing one or two accidents himself, he ran to the reception.

"Hi, I'm looking for (Y/N) (Y/L/N). She's been in a car accident." he gasped.

The nurse looked at him for a second, then at the tablet in front of her, then back at him. "Yes, Ms.(Y/N) is still in the OR."

"Is she gonna be okay?"

"Are you a family member?"

"Yes, I'm her fiancé." Harry lied.

The nurse raised an eyebrow, then shrugged. "Her injuries were pretty severe, but the doctors are doing everything they can. Why don't you take a seat in the waiting room. The doctor will find you once your fiancée is out of the OR. Also, meanwhile you can fill out her insurance papers."

Harry nodded. "Whatever she needs. I don't care what it costs.'

She gave him a small smile, before handing him the papers. Harry sat down and started filling them out.

He was glad he could keep his mind busy for a while, but once he was done there was nothing left to do but wait. Thoughts were running wild in his head. Luckily a few moments later the boys showed up.

"Harry!" Louis called and they ran over to him.

Niall handed him a bundle of clothes, on top of which lay his favorite hat.

"You're still in your stage clothes, we thought you might wanna change, so we grabbed your favorite things."

Harry gave them a sad smile, tears pooling in his eyes.

"Thank you, guys." he choked out, before pulling them into a group hug.

He quickly pulled the soft knit sweater, one of your favorites of his, over his head, stuffing the button down into his jeans and put the hat on.

"Do you know anything yet?" Liam asked carefully, as they all sat down.

Harry shook his head. "No, the nurse just told me that they're operating on her right now and that her injuries are pretty severe."

He put his hand to his forehead, his mind and heart exhausted from worrying, trying to hide his tears.

"I can't lose her. She's everything to me. She's the light in my life. If I lose her, there'll be nothing left, but darkness." he croaked, then ran his hand down his face, letting it come to rest over his mouth.

A gesture the boys had only seen a few times, but all too well knew what it meant: Helplessness and desperation. And the worst part was, they couldn't even comfort him, because they felt the same way.

Hours passed without news and Harry grew more and more impatient. Finally he couldn't take it any longer, so he got up and stomped over to the nurse.

"How is there STILL no news yet. What the hell is taking so long?" he growled at her.

"I'm sorry, sir, but I'm sure-"

She was cut off by the arrival of a doctor in blue scrubs. His face didn't give any indication as to your condition. Harry ran to him.

"Are you (Y/N)'s doctor? How is she?"

"You must be Mr. Styles. I'm Dr. Schulz. Your fiancée's condition is stable for now, but she'll have to undergo at least two more surgeries to ensure her full recovery. Her injuries were very serious and we've done everything in our power.." he looked at the ground and Harry's heart stopped beating for a second, "I'm very sorry, Mr. Styles, but she lost the baby."

Harry's eyes widened. "Baby? What baby?"

"Ms. (Y/L/N) was pregnant. Didn't you know?"

Harry shook his head. The doctor bit his lip.

"Can I see her?" Harry asked, his throat so tight he barely got the words out.

Dr. Schulz nodded and lead him down the hallway, to the ICU.

There you were, laying in the bed, your leg in a cast, bandages wrapped around your head, your face barely recognizable and tubed leading from your arms, chest, mouth, and nose to machines and IVs.

Harry carefully sat down on the bed and took your hand.

"I'm here, love." he whispered, "I'm here."

That was the only assurance he could give you and himself in that moment, because nothing else was certain anymore.
