It was December night and I was preparing my things for another quest. A quest against Medusa, the snake headed woman. I just figured out that she was the one who took my beloved Annabeth’s invisibility cap. Okay know it sounds stupid fighting Medusa just to get a cap but it’s Annabeth’s and she loves that cap so much and I would be willing to do anything just to get it back. By the way, my name’s Percy Jackson and my father is Poseidon. I was just packing things up when Annabeth, the love of my life, entered the tent. “Percy, don’t do this. It’s just a cap alright?” she said looking at me worriedly. “It’ll be fine” I assured her even if I’m not a hundred percent sure if I’ll come back home alive. “Okay then let me come with you” she said with her grey eyes sparkling like diamonds. I just looked at her. I ain’t got something to say. I know, she seriously wants to stop me or come with me but it’s far too dangerous especially since she’s the daughter of Athena and the one who turned Medusa unto a monster is Athena. I just hugged her tight and said “I’m sorry, but it’s for the better” then strode of without another word.
After 5 hours of walking, riding a car and traveling I finally arrived at this Auntie Em’s Garden Emporium. The shop looks like a normal shop but I won’t be fooled again considering Auntie Em is Medusa in disguise. Her so called garden sculptures are the ones which she turned unto stone. I opened the door with Riptide, my sword, at my hand. I searched the place but there was no sign of the monster. But before I could turn my head an arrow passed by me, nearly giving me a bruise in my shoulder. And as I looked forward, I lowered my head again and ran as fast as I can. You know what’s hard on fighting this woman? You can’t look directly at her otherwise you’ll turn unto one of her sculptures. “Oh, dear Percy just show your face to me. Your girlfriend has been missing this isn’t she?” she said laughing like a retarded person. I couldn’t see what ‘this’ she means but I figured it could be Annabeth’s invisibility cap. I fake fall to make her notice me, that I got hit by her arrow. What she didn’t know was I was hiding Riptide in my jacket. “Ow” I fake a voice that sounded that I’m hurt. “Ow, you…your ar..arrow g..got me” I said sounding like I’m in deep pain. I think she thought it was true because she came closer and bent and held my chin. “Weak Percy, you’re just like that Daddy of yours” she said with a tone of pain. I couldn’t blame her for feeling that way. Besides its dad’s fault for bringing her in Athena’s building without permission. Even if she was like 20 inches away from me, I didn’t open my eyes. I was about to get Riptide when I heard this very familiar voice, “Hey slithery hair, care to have a haircut?!”.
I was thinking like, “WHAT IN THE WORLD IS SHE DOING HERE?”. Medusa looked back and threw this arrow upon Annabeth. “Look out!” I shouted but it was too late because the moment she turned her back backward, she was hit by the arrow. Annabeth fell down the ground screaming in deep pain, must be some kind of poison that Medusa put to cause it with so much pain. That’s it. I was burning, inside. It was like there was a fire inside me blazing like crazy. My mind closed down and the only thing that is circling my thoughts right now is, Annabeth is hurt and I need to kill Medusa. “Good for you, that nerdy woman’s daughter. That’s what she gets for messing me up” Medusa said looking at Annabeth with anger and pride. Then she took something in her pocket, a scythe knife! This was very deadly. A scythe knife could kill both mortal and god which make a demigod very poor considering that he/she could die both. I was burning hot now. Sweat falling down and I feel like I’m about to burst. “You will pay!” I screamed at the top of my lungs as I charged with my eyes closed. Medusa turned and held out her knife. Riptide hit her knife which made a screeching noise. Sword fight was on right now. It was really hard ‘because I had to close my eyes. “Give up Percy. You lose” Medusa laughed evilly. I opened my eyes a little and saw this huge sculpture beside her. I breathed hard and opened my eyes wide which made Medusa shocked of what I just did. “Not any chance” I said as I pushed the sculpture at her which made her fall. “Curse y-“she was about to say something but I cut it off because I cut her slithery head. “Oh really?” I said, trying to catch my voice.
“Uh” I was held back to my senses when I heard Annabeth’s voice. “H..hey. Hey, look at me. Hold tight okay? We’ll go back to camp and get ambrosia and nectar to cure you. Hold tight.” Then I reached for my pocket and get Annabeth’s cap. “Here, see? I told you I’d be able to get it.” I said looking at Annabeth straight in the eyes. “You’re crazy seaweed brain. You shouldn’t have done it. It’s just a cap compared to your life” she said softly closing her eyes. “I’ll pick you up when you’re getting down” I sang slowly at her while she still closes her eyes. “And out of all this things I’ve done, I think I love you better now”.
