Seventeen-year-old Harper Thorne hoped that leaving the bustling streets of her California hometown for the quiet, rain-soaked town of Forks, Washington, would offer her a fresh start - a chance to escape the shadows of her agonizing past.

"It's her." Alice's voice barely rose above a whisper, tinged with shock and wonder.
Edward's ocher eyes widened as he followed her gaze to the human girl sitting alone at a distant table in the cafeteria.
"How is that possible?" he murmured, disbelief lacing his tone. "Wouldn't you have seen her before now?"
"I thought I would," Alice admitted, her brows knitting together in confusion. "I don't understand how I missed this... how I didn't see her coming."
Edward studied her expression for a moment, then pressed, "Does she resemble the girl from your vision? The one you had all those years ago?"
"Exactly like her." Alice nodded, her certainty unwavering. "Every detail is accurate—her face, her hair, even the setting of this cafeteria is precisely how I saw it—that has to be her without a doubt."
Edward frowned, his curiosity piqued. "It's strange, though, isn't it? You saw her once before... long before she was even born. And now, nothing until this moment?"
"I know," Alice agreed, her voice laced with frustration and awe. "I don't know why I didn't see her sooner, but it doesn't matter now. She's finally here."
Her lips curved into a radiant smile as she glanced over her shoulder, eyes shimmering with admiration.
Edward smirked. "She seems to be quite taken with you, too," he remarked, his gift giving him a glimpse of the girl's thoughts.
Alice's expression lit up, a soft gasp escaping her lips as she struggled to contain her excitement. "Really?" she asked, her voice barely restrained.
"Really," Edward chuckled. "Though, for someone who's waited this long, you're surprisingly nervous."
"I've never felt like this about anyone before, Edward," Alice confessed, her words tumbling out in a rare moment of vulnerability. "What if she's not into gi—"
"Alice," Edward cut her off gently, his tone steady. "If she's your mate—if this is meant to be—it'll happen. You don't need to overthink it."
Alice let out a small sigh of relief, her grin returning. "You're right. I have to trust the vision, trust fate. Sooner or later, we'll find our way to each other."
"Exactly. Just give it time," Edward encouraged. "Let her come to you naturally. You've already waited this long; what's a little longer?"
Alice nodded, her confidence bolstered. But as her gaze drifted back to the girl—the lovely strawberry blonde now turned away—a flicker of impatience tugged at her heart.
"Still," she admitted softly, "I hope it's soon. I've waited so long for her."
"I know you have," Edward's smile grew, his joy for his sister evident.
