The remaining portion of the week was uneventful.
Every day felt repetitive, though not necessarily in a negative way.
I was beginning to grow closer to Alice Cullen, despite my friend's endless curiosities as to why I had begun a friendship with her.
More so, why one of the Cullen siblings had begun a friendship with me of all people — they never spoke to others, so what made me so special?
Even Alice kept to herself just as much as her other reserved siblings, with the only excuse being me it seemed.
I still couldn't wrap my mind around that.
Furthermore, after getting to know Alice a little more, and spending more time talking to her during school hours, I didn't believe Jessica's odd assumption was correct in any way.
While yes, I could admittedly understand why Alice's cheerful, balletic, and captivating personality could be seen as strange to others — nevertheless, I didn't consider that very weird.
She was genuinely very friendly, caring even, and her unique demeanor alongside those traits only made her who she was — she shouldn't have been viewed as peculiar because of that.
As for my other new friend, Bella — Arizona as Mike nicknamed her — she appeared to be getting more used to her life here in Forks.
We were good acquaintances at this point, engaged in conversations during the classes we shared, ate lunch together every day in the cafeteria with our other peers, and even exchanged phone numbers — mainly in case we needed each other for homework assistance.
However, one thing that was still prominent with her, even a full week later, was her uneasiness towards Alice's pretty boy of a brother — Edward.
She was still feeling troubled by the way he acted towards her in Biology on her first day, and wanted to confront him about his uncivil, odd behavior. However, he hadn't returned to school since that day.
It had been an entire week of him being absent.
Although I didn't pay any mind or concern to it — seeing as he could've been gone for a multitude of reasons, none of which likely major — Bella certainly did, and even worried that his absence was her fault.
As foolish as that sounded to me, I tried to comfort her about the situation and assure her as best as I could, though I knew my attempts would likely fail.
When Monday rolled around again, it wasn't raining as it was all week, though it was far colder in the air, making me feel grateful I chose to wear a knitted sweater that day.
I met Bella by her truck when I arrived at school — a habit that had transpired after getting to know her more — and we both walked into school, waving back at the few faces that greeted us in the morning.
