A new day arose, and it already felt irregular.
I assumed it was on account of the event that occurred the day prior at school with Bella, rather what almost happened.
However, I felt like something else was derailing my mind as well, though I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
I passed it off as me simply having an odd start to the day, even though there technically was no reason for me to not feel like my usual self.
That particular day, following the accident, I, along with my classmates in biology, was going to be going on a field trip with our biology teacher, Mr. Banner, to a greenhouse. Alongside one or two of his other biology classes, he taught separately from ours.
Luckily, Bella was in his fifth-period biology class, so she'd also be going on the field trip, meaning I wouldn't be stuck alone the entire time.
She, needless to say, received loads of attention from the other students, especially Tyler who continued to apologize to her, despite her desperate pleas for him to forget about it and to stop with the consistent apologies.
This sudden attention on Bella, of course, made Jessica, Lauren, and a few other envious girls turn sour, and question "what the big deal was" about it, not showing any form of concern or empathy for what occurred.
As for Edward, the "true hero" as Bella called him, was not on anyone's mind regarding the incident.
They didn't pay any mind to his heroic action that admittedly saved Bella's life, despite me still not understanding how he was capable of doing such a thing.
He, like the other Cullens, was avoided as normal by the other students, even after what happened.
This saddened me.
Although it was Bella who was the main focal point of this accident, who was the most at risk of being hit by the van, and who was saved by the gorgeous Cullen boy, Alice still took action to save me as well, as I was also in the pathway of the skidding vehicle.
If it hadn't jerked towards Bella's direction, I would've been hit for sure, yet despite that, Alice rushed to my side, pulled me out of the way, and saved me from being potentially run over by the van that was headed for Bella's truck where she was standing.
She, along with her brother, deserved to be acknowledged for what they did for us, not treated as outcasts that were invisible to them.
I was leaning up against one of the school buses, watching Bella from afar as she was talking to Mike next to her truck, waiting to be told which bus to go on by the teacher.
I also noticed the sky was overcast, though it hadn't rained yet — fortunately, I remembered to bring my raincoat for the trip, as I was finally becoming used to the climate norm here.
