I was walking home from our usual poker night, at Buck Merril's place. Dallas had won three rounds. I nearly lost my whole allowance playing him that night. But I knew I'd make it back by helping out Soda and Steve in the gas station. I was walking to my house, just minding my own business. When suddenly a Soc came up behind me.
I had seen how Pony and Johnny turned out when they had gotten jumped I didn't want that to be me. That was the problem they could do much worse since I'm a girl.
I've recognized the Soc that grabbed me it was Bob Sheldon.
I screamed for anybody, somebody.
Twobit, Steve anyone.
I knew Pony's whole gang. And I had a crush on his big brother Darry for the longest time, but I had no idea this day he would save my life.
"Help me!!" I screamed.
"Shut up bitch!" Bob said covering my mouth.
Then I heard a firm voice behind us.
"You let her go! Right now!" It was Darry.
"What are you gonna do if we---" Bob was interrupted by a punch straight in the jaw.
He dropped me in an instant and Darry ran over to me and helped me up.
"You alright Ella?" He asked me.
"Oh... Yes thank you ..." I said shyly.
"Come on let me take you to my place." Darry said.
"Okay." I said.
He walked me to his house.
"Hey Ells you okay?" Soda said looking over.
"She's alright just a little flustered." Darry assured him.
"It was her first attack was it?" Twobit joked.
"can it Twobit." Ponyboy snapped.
"Pony! Language." Darry said.
"Sorry..." Pony grumbled.
"Darry... I..." I began.
He sat beside me.
"Sssh don't speak, Ella I think you should rest." Darry said to me.
"But I..." Then I just stopped talking like I didn't wanna argue with him.
"Looks like someone's making Googly eyes at your brother Pony." Twobit said.
Pony rolled his eyes.
It's like all the guys in the gang knew bout my crush on Darry, except Darry.
Steve walks in.
"Whoo baby looks like Darry's finally got himself a girlfriend." Steve said.
"Steve, shut up." I said blushing.
"Don't worry Ella, I kinda like the idea." Darry said smirking.
He then caresses my cheek and kisses my lips. I kiss him back.
