Sebastians POV

Upon entering the arena, a choice few of us were selected to sit in a special setting near the front. Not one to deny the chance to be treated like a VIP, I accepted. Ominis and I filed carefully beside a few of our peers.

I noticed most of us had some sort of connection to the Triwizard Champions. I swear the Hufflepuff behind me was the one who was rumored to be snogging Leander. The Ravenclaw to my left, was rumored to be seeing Andrew.

The first event was nothing like I had ever seen. Students, Faculty, Hogsmeade vendors alike were here to witness the Trial Triwizard tournament. I watched as a few took and placed bets, I wondered if they knew who exactly was competing.

"It's certainly a large event" Ominis murmured to my right, his head craning left and right to take in the sounds

"Hm... For a trial event, it's certainly showing off how large the real event could be" I answered, searching the arena for Y//N. There was a canvas tent near the back of the arena, shimmering with an anti-magic field. Perhaps an attempt to keep the reporters out.

With a blare of the horn, the front tent flaps burst open to allow the champions through. Leander Prewit wore his agonizingly red gryffindor uniform, Andrew Larson in his winged Ravenclaw outfit, and Charlotte Morrison in a tight uniform fit for moving. At the back was Y/N, wearing black attire, adorned with silver snakes, the green of her uniform shimmered subtly in the light of the sun.

She looked like a true Slytherin Champion, shimmering and moving gracefully like a snake. Her eyes scanned the stands, when they locked on me it was like she was seeing right through me. She broke eye contact almost too quickly, turning and eyeing the other side of the arena.

I was reminded of the event in the Undercroft, and the way she had run out on me. I could only hope that that would not cause her too much distress during the trial.

"You alright, Sebastian?" Ominis asked, as I ran my hand through my hair frustratingly. Hating my thoughts, and hating what I had become.

"Never better" I muttered through grit teeth. I watched Y/N settle in front of the entrance to the trial. Her face was blown-up large on a magical screen above our heads. The quality was amazing, it was as if I was right there with her. Her brow was furrowed, she was serious now.

I could imagine the thoughts and plans she had begun to devise. Y/N was smart, and the moments I had gone with her on outings were moments I treasured.

LUMOS!

Y/N was the first to cast when the horn blew loud, signaling the beginning of the trial. Quickly each champion entered the dugout entrances. Disappearing into the darkness, the crowd craned their heads up to view the magical recordings.

The darkness in those tunnels looked thick and heavy, an unwelcome environment indeed. It looked like an animal or beast had clawed and dug out those tunnels.

Charlotte was the first to scream, unbeknownst to her she came upon a group of spiders along her path. Next Leander was screaming, running off without any regard for what would be logical. Typical Gryffindor. Andrew was next, each of them screaming names and running like mad.

I turned my attention to Y/N's screen, she was calm, as she always was. Her face was illuminated slightly by her lit wand, framed by the darkness. I couldn't help but admire the beauty of it.

"I'm right here Ominis! Where are you?" She called out, and she too began a mad dash towards whatever she was talking to.

"Did she say my name?" Ominis asked, listening carefully.
