Your POV

I quickly checked my pack filled with wiggenweld potions, after downing a couple to recover from the extracting spell I was left with about 9. There was no more time to brew anymore, I'd have to be careful.

Sebastian watched me frantically pack a few needed items. A look of concern plastered on his face as he crossed his arms and leaned against a column in my Room of Requirement.

"Can't you just refuse?" He asked, his eyes meeting mine in the mirror.

I sighed, tightening a few belts on my outfit, making sure none would come undone during the trial. "You know I can't." I answered curtly, as I pulled my hair back and braided it tightly.

"And the rebound?" His voice was quiet, "Why would you bother rushing to your death if something is already killing you?" His voice croaked a little, as he averted my gaze, staring hard at the ground. He stood in silence, his fists balled at his sides.

I smiled wearily, turning and facing him properly, my footsteps near quiet as I placed a hand on his cheek. "Sometimes Life isn't that simple, I'm sorry that it turned out this way" I answered quietly, looking into his brown eyes, searching for a confirmation that he would be okay

His hand held mine, as he leaned his head against the warmth of my palm. "Why is it that each time there's a victory, something goes wrong? What if this is the last I see you?" His voice was low, as he stepped forward, pressing our hands to his beating heart and rested his forehead on mine.

"This isn't" I whispered, squeezing his hand tightly. "I seem to have a nasty habit like someone we know" I chuckled, fluttering my eyes open to gaze into his.

"I don't know when to stop" I murmured, glancing at our entwined hands between us I prayed to whatever entity was watching over me. Somehow let me get through this. Whether I was battered and bruised, weakened and crying. Let me return to the family I found here.

"Y/N... Before you go- I need to tell you something" Sebastian whispered, his finger tilting my head to face him.

I quickly pressed a finger to his lips, shaking my head slowly "Give me something to return to" I smiled and took his hand, "We have to go"

Sebastian's brows furrowed "I need you to know this- in case"

"No Sebastian, you can tell me when I return" I answered, tugging him out the door and towards the Arena.

This arena was different. Some kind of dome had covered the Quidditch pitch, and upon entering it was as black as night with the entire night sky expansive above us. The crowd filed into their seats as if it was a quidditch match, but instead of spectating a lively game there were the same screens placed in the night sky.

I was seated beside the other two champions, Leander and Charlotte. This time we had no champion tent for privacy, but simply a seat at the stage. In front of us were 4 stone slabs shaped like disks, each of them bearing our house sigil.

"There's four of them" I murmured quietly to my fellow Champions

"Heard Andrew is still at St. Mungos, so they found a replacement?" Leander asked from my right, as he leaned over his arm rest towards me.

"Most certainly, Why bother setting up four places?" Charlotte whispered from my left, brushing dust off her pants.

I leaned back in my chair and stared out into the crowd, spotting my group of friends sitting together this time. Poppy waved frantically, shooting me a thumbs up, before also shooting a thumbs up for Charlotte. Always a cute one.
