Chapter 23🫶
Everyone hurried Nylah'a onto the rocks as fast as they could, applying pressure to her wounds. Nylah'a struggled to breathe, her breathing was heavy and fast. They laid her down, Lo'ak covered her wounds with his hands, Tsireya sat down next to her squeezing her hand.
"Kiri ! Go get Ronal!" Jake yelled.
"Dad I-
"Just go, we don't have much time!" Jake yelled in distress.
Kiri raced off to find Ronal and Toniwari, praying that Ronal is able to help Nylah'a.
"I don't want to die!" Nylah'a cried out in pain.
"You're not dying, okay? You hear me! You are not dying!" Lo'ak reassured her.
Tsireya grabbed ahold of Nylah'a's hand and began to sob.
"It hurts, Rey." Nylah'a whimpered in agony.
"I know, I know." Tsireya replied back as tears ran down her cheeks. "You just got to hold on okay? Wait for mom."
Lo'ak held his hands firmly over her wound, trying to prevent anymore blood loss as she was bleeding out fast. Nylah'a let out a loud groan.
"Oh, sweet child." Neytiri whispered, placing her hand on Nylah'a's face and caressing her cheek, wiping the tears away.
Tuk began to sob, watching Nylah'a struggle to breathe and let out groans of pain.
"Tuk don't cry, please don't cry." Nylah'a begged as tears fell down Tuk's cheek.
"I don't want you to leave, I don't want the Great Mother to take you too." Tuk sobbed.
"Oh Tuk." Neytiri uttered, holding her daughters hand as she cried.
"Dad, there's so much blood." Lo'ak yelled to Jake.
"Move over." Jake told Lo'ak as he placed his hand on Nylah'a's open wound, attempting to prevent the blood from flowing out of her.
"Ah!" Nylah'a screamed. "I don't know how long I can hold on for."
"Ny please, please hold on." Tsireya sobbed, begging her sister.
A tear ran down Lo'ak's cheek.
"Reya, I love you so much." Nylah'a told her sister, unsure of how much time they had left together. "I'm so proud of you. You are kind and compassionate and you will make the most amazing Tsahik."
"No Ny, you are supposed to become Tsahik, just hold on." Tsireya explained, not accepting the fact her sister was dying.
Nylah'a shook her head in pain and sadness.
"Rey, I'm dying."
Tears flooded Tsireya's eyes as she began to sob, holding her sisters hands tightly. Not wanting to accept the fact.
"You are my bestfriend, I'm so glad to have been able to call you my sister." Nylah'a spoke sincerely, holding Tsireya's hand tightly as she cried. "You are strong and so so brave. Thankyou for always being there for me, little sister."
"I love you Nylah'a, I can't do this without you." Tsireya expressed as tears dropped onto Nylah'a's hand. "I'm stronger when I'm with you."
"Remember that no matter what, I'm always by your side. We are sisters. That's something nobody can ever take away from us." Nylah'a explained to her sister whilst the tears began drowning her eyes. "I'll always be with you."
"Thankyou for being by my side, always." Tsireya said as her voice cracked from the pain inside she was feeling.
A tear dropped down Neytiri's eye as she thought about her sister Sylwanin, and how she never got to say goodbye.
