Chapter 24 ❤️‍🩹

"Every song cord must have a last bead."

It was the day of the funeral. The clan all gathered around at eclipse to pay their respects to the fallen.

The sully family rode out above the spirit tree. Ronal, Ao'nung, Toniwari and Tsireya on the other side of them, pulling their fallen children through the water, towards the spirit tree.

They gently pulled Neteyam and Nylah'a into the water.

Neytiri looked down at her son and sobbed. Lo'ak and Tuk placed their hands on their brothers head, in a way of saying goodbye. Kiri and Spider sat on the ilu next to them as Neytiri and Jake began to take Neteyam down to the spirit tree.

They gently pulled Nylah'a into the water. Ao'nung caressed her cheek and kissed his sisters forehead. Tsireya cried as she stared at her sister's beautiful dead body.

"Goodbye Ny." Tsireya whispered leaning on her sisters head for the last time.

Ronal and Toniwari grabbed their daughter and began to dive down to the spirit tree.

Jake and Neytiri took a deep breath before diving under the water, following along Ronal and Tonwari.

As Lo'ak and Tsireya watched as their siblings got taken down the the spirit tree, they let their tears get washed up in the water as they watched their siblings get buried. The ears flicked down in sadness and their pain remained with them.

They placed Nylah'a and Neteyam down in the spirit tree, right next to each other and watched as the Great Mother took in their bodies as they floated down, becoming one with the Spirit tree. Finally getting laid to rest, becoming one of the people.

The families watched as they floated down, getting one last glimpse of their children. It felt surreal.

"The people say that all energy is only borrowed. One day you have to give it back."

"Eywa holds all her children in her heart. Nothing is ever lost."

In Eywa~

Nylah'a walked around this unknown place. She had never been here before nor was it familiar to her. She took in the scenery, admiring the beauty of this place when she came across this pond, standing down in that pond was a boy. She stared in the distance before instantly recognising the person.

Her face beamed with joy once she realised and her smile grew.

"Neteyam!" Nylah'a yelled out.

Neteyam turned around starting at her and his smile grew.

"Nylah'a!" Neteyam yelled back.

The two ran up to each other instantly jumping into one another's arms and hugging as tightly as they could. They were so happy to be back in each other's embrace, where they both belonged.

"I thought I'd never see you again." Nylah'a uttered.

Neteyam broke the hug and put his hand on Nylah'a's face.

"Oh baby." Neteyam spoke softly. "I would of found my way back to you one way or another."

The two leaned in for a kiss. The kiss was passionate and full of love. They stayed in that moment for a while.

"I love you so much Nylah'a."

"I love you Neteyam."

"Why are you here?" Neteyam asked.

"I died, Tey." Nylah'a replied. "Avenging you."

"You did?" Neteyam replied back to her reply. "Are my family safe?"

"They're all okay." Nylah'a reassured.

"Neteyam?"

"Yeah?"

"Where are we?" Nylah'a asked.

"You said you always wanted to see the forest." Neteyam explained grabbing her hand and showing her the scenery. "Welcome to my home."

Nylah'a looked around, still shocked at the beautiful scenery of the forest of Pandora.

"It's beautiful." Nylah'a expressed.

"Don't worry, after this, we will go back to your home." Neteyam assured. "There was just no way I couldn't show this to you."

Nylah'a smiled at him.

Neteyam took a few steps forward and turned to her.

"You coming?" Neteyam asked, gesturing his hand out for her to grab.

Nylah'a's smile grew as she ran up to him and took his hand.

The two ran through the forest together. They were finally back were they were supposed to be. Together. Within Eywa. They were at home with each other. Forever.
