Erling had left Scarlet's house before she was awake, wanting to get into training early after the previous day's defeat.
He really didn't want to leave without saying goodbye, but she looked so peaceful wrapped up in her duvet that he just didn't have the heart to wake her up.
Instead, he settled on scribbling a note and leaving it on her bed-stand.
'didn't want to wake you, beautiful. off for early training session. have a good day, will come by and see you later x'
Scarlet awoke around an hour after Erling had let himself out. She rolled over expecting to be able to wrap her arms around him and was disappointed when she felt nothing but empty space next to her in her king sized bed.
She went to retrieve her phone and noticed a piece of paper on top of it, Erling's note. Gutted he had left her, she decided to get up and try and make herself look somewhat presentable for the working day ahead.
She did her usual natural makeup with some winged eyeliner and straightened her usually curly hair, flicking it out at the ends. Deciding to make herself some breakfast for a change, she stuck on some weekday morning TV and sat down to eat. As the morning went on, her head begun spinning and her stomach began cramping. It was her time of the month and her anaemia was particularly bad today.
The room was spinning and she debated whether to work from home, but she had gone through all that effort of getting ready, so she decided to get an Uber instead of her usual busy bus journey and power through.
The morning went pretty fast and it was soon lunch time.
"Fancy coming to grab some lunch?" Alice asked Scarlet, peering up from her computer.
"I'm not feeling too hot, I think I'll give lunch a miss for now." Scarlet replied, looking away from her screen and having a sip of her water.
"You look really pale Scarlet, you should go home if you're not very well."
Scarlet gave Alice a sympathetic smile. "Too much shit to do!" She would've loved to have gone home but she wasn't keen on being off sick so early into a new job. Plus, she wanted to see Erling.
"Text me if you change your mind!" Alice said and off she went.
Scarlet pulled out her phone and begun having a scroll on Twitter, scanning through the latest news. After a few minutes her vision begun going a little hazy and she popped her phone down on the desk.
The door to her office opened and in walked Jack.
"Alright Scarlet, how's it going?" Jack said with a smirk, waltzing in and taking a seat at Alice's desk.
Scarlet did her best to put on a brave face. "Not feeling too great but we move. How's training been?"
"It's been okay, thought I'd come and say hi to the girl of the hour after listening to Erling bang on about you all morning." Jack said before taking a proper look at the girl. "Yeah you do look a bit peaky actually, what's up?"
"Just having a bad day with my anaemia, I don't think I've had a moment where I've not felt like I'm going round in circles all day yet."
"Do you want me to take you home?" This was the last thing that Scarlet heard before she put her elbows onto her thighs and her head into her hands as the darkness consumed her.
Jack ran over to Scarlet, her body now limp in the chair.
He gently pushed her back into her seat and shook her arm. "Scarlet?"
