Hm?' Y/n silently hummed to herself. She quickly looked away from the phone realizing it wasn't hers. Mainly focusing on helping the other student with the Assignment, Y/n didn't pay any attention to the message. Shikamaru came back shortly and sat quietly next to Y/n. She purposely sat his phone down on the couch so he wouldn't think that she saw the text that he received. Soon enough, the girl thanked Y/n for her help and went back to her table. Y/n leaned back into the couch, all of her thoughts rushing into her mind at once.

"I miss you too..? Is that why she came up to that one time? To find out if we were dating before she tries to get back with him?And 'too'...? So Shikamaru said it first huh?"

Y/n sucked her teeth, a sense of irritation slowly building up inside her. She felt somewhat guilty at the fact that she read a personal text that was meant for Shikamaru. But at the same time, it was an accident. She wouldn't purposely look at messages that were sent to Shikamaru, or anybody. But it still annoyed Y/n how he kissed her and now him and his ex are saying "I miss you" to each.

"So why in the world did he kiss me if he planned on getting back together with his ex? Obviously that junk meant nothing to him. Probably just touched deprived.."

Y/n felt..weird. She had never been mad or irritated with Shikamaru before. She felt ashamed. The fact that she even thought that Shikamaru could feel the same way about her was embarrassing. "He was just being friendly I guess" Y/n tried to convince herself but it was hard. All those times they would look into each other's eyes and jokingly asked what they were looking at. The times when Shikamaru would ask Y/n to just ride around with him or even with his friends occasionally. He was touchy, but in the slightest, most oblivious ways. And as long as Y/n has known him, Shikamaru wasn't the type to do those things with just anybody. This frustrated Y/n and at this point she just wanted closure. She can't be mad at him for not liking her but she can be mad at him for kissing her. 'Cause, why would you randomly kiss your female friend? Especially with no emotions or feelings attached.

Y/n subconsciously scooted away from Shikamaru but It wasn't very noticeable though. She didn't realize that she had been starring at the same TikTok video for a while now but Shikamaru did.

"Hey, you good? You been starring at that same TikTok for a while" he lightly chuckled

"Aw yeah... I'm good" she said swiping her finger up to reveal the next video

Shikamaru could feel the slight change in Y/n mood. Before he went up to his counselor, they were just chillin and saying stuff to each other here and there. But Shikamaru noticed how Y/n Didn't even look up at her phone or crack a smile like she usually would. She just responded in a nonchalant tone. Y/n was hurt, whether she wanted to admit it or not. She started to believe that something could possibly happen between them. And after that kiss? He filled her stomach with butterflies. And to think that it meant absolutely nothing to Shikamaru, crushed Y/n.

As the day went on, everything just seemed to annoy Y/n. It's could've been the fact that it was that time of the month or the fact that she was a little bit overstimulated from school. She made those honors and AP classes look easy but they definitely weren't. Her friends asked her what was wrong and Y/n responded with a simple "I'm just tired". Of course, they didn't believe it but they didn't press her about it. Y/n, on the other hand, didn't necessarily feel like telling them about the whole thing. She didn't want to talk or even think about it but that seemed to be the only reoccurring thought in her mind.

The boys didn't even know about the kiss that happened between Y/n and Shikamaru and even though they might not seem interested, deep down they want all the tea- including Emerell. They would bully the girls about these types of situations but that was their way of showing interest. Or just responding with a simple answer. Emerell was more logical while Lacquer was more mentally in tuned and asked how they felt.  Honestly, they're all ride or die's and Y/n knows how things would go if she told them that the boy that she likes, kissed her and then went on to tell his ex that he misses her. Y/n doesn't want any drama or any unnecessary problems so she really tried to push it aside.
