Draco and Harry continued on through their days without a word spoken. They'd sit in the same room and enjoy their friends, but never said a word to each other.
Harry had to admit, he finally felt at peace. At least this way they weren't fighting, he could be around him without wanting to punch him in his stupid git face.
Draco on the other hand didn't like it as much, because time and time again he allowed himself to get rejected by Harry Potter for being an insufferable prat.
There wasn't a day Draco Malfoy didn't beat himself up about something, whether it be ruining any and all chances he gets for redemption with Potter, being an ex-death eater, still having the mark. Everything he was forced to do during the war.
It didn't matter how good the day was, or how happy he felt for any portion of the day. Draco was suffering. In silence mostly, because he hadn't anyone he felt safe enough to talk to about it.
So that is why he left Harry alone. It was better this way for the both of them, at least not speaking meant he couldn't fuck anything else up between the two of them.
Currently they were sitting in a circle in the common room, everyone was chatting away besides Harry and Draco who were just staring at each other.
"Harry!" Ron yelled, snapping him out of his trance. "Hm?" Harry replied sheepishly. "I need to talk to you, alone." Harry nodded and followed Ron to his dorm. All the eighth years were given separate dorms.
"I think you're stupid." Ron spoke as soon as they got the door shut. "Excuse me?" Harry bit, a look of shock on his face.
"You obviously have a thing for him, you can lie to everyone else but you can't lie to me alright?"
Harry laughed, loudly. "Ron you're mad, I don't have a thing for Malfoy I told you that before! I figured you'd trust me. I would tell you if I had a thing for him, mind your damn business!" Harry walked out slamming the door, making his way to his dorm.
He immediately slid down the door, cursing himself mentally. He didn't like being as angry as he was, since the war things have been awful. He's been blacking out over every little thing. He could feel his magic pulsing through him as he struggled to breathe.

No one saw Harry the rest of the night, and by morning Draco had begun to worry.
He walked to Harry's dorm silently, knocking on the door. "Go away." He heard Harry mumble, he sounded like he'd been crying. "Potter let me in."
Draco heard the click of the lock, and walked in slowly, closing the door behind him. "What do you want?" Harry sniffed, hiding his face in the pillow he was holding. "Are you alright? I was worried about you."
Harry shrugged, "no I'm not alright. I'm tired. I'm tired of being looked at as the hero. I'm tired of always being angry and snapping at every minor convenience. I'm tired of everyone thinking I should be happy just because Voldemort's dead. I'm tired of my parents not being here, of Sirius not being here, of Lupin not being here, Fred, Snape, Dumbledore. I'm tired of being afraid."
Draco was taken aback by Harry's sudden vent. Harry rarely opened up to anyone. So Draco did what was right despite the voice in his head telling him to be a prat.
He sat on the edge of Harry's bed, opening his arms. "Come here." The blonde said softly. Harry looked up, as if he was going to argue.
Then he dove into Malfoys arms, not caring how he'd feel after. He really needed a hug. Draco held him while he cried, playing with his hair. Once he finally calmed down Draco looked at him.
"You did amazing Harry, but it's time to set the worries of everyone else down okay? It's time for you to allow yourself to heal. You don't have to be strong all the time, or happy, or cured. You've lost many people that were close to you, you've been through trauma most normal kids our age would never understand. Crying is good. Don't harm yourself. If you ever need to let anything out come tell me, or Ron, Mione, hell talk to Pansy, she's an amazing listener. Either way don't hold it in scarhead."
Harry looked up at Malfoy, getting lost in his silver eyes once again. The two were a revolving door. They loved causing each other pain, but hated when anything else caused the other pain. Harry smiled softly.
"Thank you Draco, I really appreciate that. Sorry for crying on you though." Draco waved it off, smiling himself, "don't worry about it, what are enemies for? We all need someone sometimes. Mention this in public and you're dead though."
A couple months ago Harry would've believed him, but now there was a smile plastered on the blondes face and an obvious teasing tone in his voice.
"Hey Draco?" Harry asked, still looking into Malfoys eyes. "Yes Harry?" Draco responded with as much confidence as he could. "Why do we always save each other?"
Draco was more than shocked by this question, thinking over how to answer it for a long time. He finally looked back into Harry's eyes, "as you said in the beginning of the year, we never have really hated each other. I believe that fully. I want you to succeed enough so that I can be the one to make you roll your eyes."
Harry laughed, "you are the only person who has never been fake with me, you've always told me how it is even when everyone was fawning over 'the chosen one'. I think that's why I always find a way back to you, our bickering is normalcy."
Draco smiled at the thought, "yeah precious potter, I think you're right. Our bickering is normalcy. Do you want to go back to being normal with me?"
Harry blushed, nodding gently, "yeah, I'm sorry I ignored you."
"I deserved it, prat."
"Yes you did, git."
"Twat."
"Ferret."
"Oi, watch it potter."
"See? Our normal. It just works."
"Yeah, our normal."
