Ever since their kiss the boys had been avoiding each other religiously. Making sure they stayed far away from each other.

Harry figured Draco regretted his decision because he hadn't spoken a single word to him. Draco had taken his things back to his dorm and ignored Harry completely.

Harry figured this would happen eventually, every time he loved someone they disappeared. Draco on the other hand was completely baffled.

He knew he was hurting Harry but he didn't quite know how to express his feelings so he just avoided him until he knew what to say.

None of their friends knew what was going on and were all very confused by the sudden negative shift.

"I wonder what Draco did." Pansy sighed her hand resting on her chin. "What makes you think it was Draco love? It could've been Harry."

Pansy shook her head, "Harry is an idiot but he is a nice guy. He wouldn't do anything to purposely hurt Draco, and if he did Draco would've said something. Draco is definitely at fault."

"He didn't do anything wrong." Harry's voice sounded behind them. The girls jumped, turning to see a sullen look on the golden boys face.

"What happened then?" Mione asked gesturing for Harry to sit next to her. Once he did she immediately kissed his head and grabbed his hand. Pansy smiled at their friendship.

"Well, don't freak out. He uh, kissed me?" The girls squealed before Harry could say anything else and he rolled his eyes. "I said DONT freak out! He hasn't talked to me since then."

"Wait he hasn't spoken to you at all?" Pansy said in the calmest voice she could, rage filling her eyes. "Pansy calm down." Hermione said grabbing her girlfriends hand, which seemed to almost immediately ground her.

"It's alright, I figure he just regretted it. I would too."

"I didn't regret a thing." Draco's voice sounded from behind, making the three on the couch jump. Before anyone could say anything Draco had already walked away.

"I'm so confused." Harry groaned putting his head on Miones shoulder.

"Draco you can't keep doing this to him." Pansy snapped, shaking her head in anger. Draco looked up at her with a heavy sigh, "I know, but I just don't think I can face him right now."

Pansy isn't taking it though, she throws her hands up. "Well guess what Draco? You decided to flirt with him! You decided to lead on his feelings, and oh wait you decided to kiss him and then make him feel like shit by ignoring him for three weeks afterwards.

You don't get to decide now if you're ready to face him or not. If you're not ready to pursue him then go bloody tell him that and stop being a prat. Your feelings aren't the only ones at stake right now and I've gotten pretty close to Harry, he's really stressed about this whole situation. Fix it."

Draco scoffs, glaring at Pansy, "you know you used to be my best friend. Remember that Parkinson."

The girl whips around a rage filled look on her eyes and walks towards Draco angrily. "That's not fair, stop acting like we are fourth years still. You'll always be my bestfriend, and that's why it's my job to let you know when you're being a cocky self absorbed insufferable prat. Which you're being right now, so fix it."

She left without another word, slamming Draco's door behind her. Draco groaned sliding down the door. Now his best mate was mad at him and Harry was hurt because of him. So everything was going lovely.

"Potter." Draco snapped catching Harry's attention. "Uh what's up Dra- Malfoy?" Harry asked shaking his head. A million emotions just swarmed at once, him and Draco came so far and then they crashed just like he thought they would.

"I'm sorry I'm a prat." Draco said looking everywhere but at Harry. Harry smiled softly, but quickly shook his head. "I'm used to it."

Draco looked up at Harry, smiling at the boy, "yeah I guess you are, but still I'm sorry. I like you, I really do. I'm just confused about my feelings."

Harry nodded, he wanted to tell Draco he liked him too, but he hesitated. The last three weeks had proven a lot to him.

"Listen Draco, this could never work.." Harry trailed off, now he was the one avoiding eye contact. "What do you mean? It could work." Draco said, not meaning to sound so desperate. He knew he was a little screwed up but he still wanted a chance.

"No, I'm sorry but it couldn't. If the last few weeks have shown me anything it's that we are always going to crash. We help each other, we are alright as friends for awhile, and then things crash. I came back to Hogwarts to heal from my war trauma. I just don't see this working. I can't open myself up to anymore hurt right now." Harry walked closer, kissing Draco's cheek.

"I'll see you around Draco, take care of yourself." Harry started to walk away but Draco pulled him back, "wait Harry, we can make it work." Draco leaned down and kissed Harry's forehead.

Harry shook his head backing away again, "I'm sorry but all you've done for nearly eight years is confuse and hurt me.. I can't."

Harry finally walked away, and Draco stood there for a second taking a deep breath. So that was it then, Draco couldn't change his mind.

The next week drug slowly, the boys were both feeling down about what happened between them. Their friends were concerned as well, and frustrated that the two were clearly making the wrong choices.

Draco wanted to respect Harry and stayed away, but he'd realized how badly he screwed everything up. He knew at this point he messed up any chance for friendship let alone a relationship.

Harry still glanced Draco's way, and Pansy would pat his hand. Ron would just roll his eyes because his best mate was a bloody idiot.

Ron had a plan though, he was going to help his bestfriend be happy and if Harry ended up getting pissed, well.. oh well.
