Yuki woke up with blurry vision, she looked up to see Zayla checking the walls in the hole they'd fallen in. "W-why didn't you run?" Yuki asked, Zayla glanced at her then walked to kneel beside her, "easy, you took a bad hit to your head, and you broke your arm. I did my best but I'm not Tonton". "Who is Tonton?" "The only other woman up there..." Yuki watched as she helped her sit up, "why did you help me?" "You helped me first". "I merely stated a point to Torlan, father wants you alive". "Yeah and I've died a few times and come back, but you still protected me. Twice..." Yuki blinked, "I don't know why I did that. Father will be disappointed in me". Zayla stood with a sigh, "you know just because you're a clone, that doesn't make Devari your father..." "I am not a clone, father perfected me is all". Zayla stared at her, "What do you mean he perfected you?" "He made me better, made me faster and stronger". Another sigh, "I bet you were fine just the way you were..." Yuki tilted her head, "regardless of what you think, he told me I have to capture you and bring you home". "Did it ever occur to you that you can say no. You don't always have to do what he says, especially if what he tells you to do is wrong". Yuki stared at her, "I don't have to..." She stood realizing that Zayla had used her own top to create a sling for her broken arm, she held out her uninjured hand, "I am told this is a greeting..." Zayla couldn't help smiling slightly, as she shook her hand, "you remind me of Seth". "Seth?" "Yeah, his innocent too... I'm Zayla". "I know". "Noooo this is the part where you introduce yourself". "Oh. I am Yuki, daughter of Devari sent to-" "Just your name is enough", Zayla chuckled letting her hand go. Yuki looked at the tube top Zayla was wearing, "here", she said taking her own short pink vest off and holding it out. "Huh?" Zayla looked at her, "whoa! What are you doing!?" "Giving you a top, you ruined your own for me". "Yeah but! I've got something underneath! Honestly it's okay put it back on..." Yuki gave a small shrug and put one arm through her top, she gasped slightly and paused. Zayla sighed, "here..." she avoided looking at Yuki's chest as she helped her injured arm in. Zayla glanced up at the top of the hole, "we should wait for the others to find us, you're too injured to climb". "The others. Your friends, I'd rather climb out-" She looked up then launched herself at one side of the hole then jumped up after several leaps. She glanced down, "Can you climb?" Zayla huffed, "I can..." She started to climb while Yuki began looking around. After five minutes Yuki leant down to pull Zayla up as she reached the top of the hole, "ah thanks". Zayla straightened, Yuki watched her brush herself down and redo her loose ponytail, she glanced at her, "Yuki... you're staring". "I am?" She stood before her, making her feel a little uncomfortable, "I don't know why but I feel drawn to you". Zayla's eyes widened, "maybe because Devari is my uncle as well as your father-" "He is not my real father. He took me in after my mother died". "Oh. I'm sorry... how did she die? Did he... have anything to do with it?" "No of course not. Why would you say that?" "He killed my mum..." "Oh. Apologies... my mother drowned hence why I never learned to swim and always avoid large bodies of water". "I'm sorry..." "Why it wasn't your fault". "Look Yuki... I know he took you in but did you ever think it's because he just wanted something from you? I mean I'm his niece and the first thing he did when he told me was try to steal my blood and almost killed me and my friends! You may think that he cares about you but his just using you to obtain his ultimate goal". Yuki stood before her with a chillingly calm expression, "and what would that be?" Zayla gulped, "I-I thought he would've told you, he wants me for my immortality..." Yuki stared at her sending a shiver down her spine, the anticipation of what was going to happen next was causing her to fidget. "So. He nearly killed you". "Uh... yeah..." "I..." Yuki's expression softened, "I didn't know", she turned away from her. "He told me, to bring you back because you are his family, he said he loves you". Zayla touched her arm, "if he loved me, he wouldn't have done what he has, I've been killed a few times because of his actions, I mean he knows what you're all like right?" "That's correct". "And yet he sent Torlan?" "To use any means necessary to capture you". "Even if it meant killing me to bring me back". "No... no he told me he wanted you alive". "Obviously that's not what he told your friends, his evil", Zayla argued, she huffed and crossed her arms as Yuki's frown faded. "If my father- if Devari is evil. Then what does that make me?" Zayla was shocked by the question, "I guess... that's something you'll have to figure out Yuki..." She held out her hand, "but you don't have to do it alone". Yuki hesitated before placing her hand in hers. "I-" She yanked her hand away as a roar echoed through the trees, she faced her back to Zayla peering into the trees. Zayla grabbed the back of her top peeking over her shoulder, "what the heck was that!?" Yuki put her hand on the hilt of her blade. The earth trembled as something huge thudded slowly towards them, the trees parted as a large scaley head edged out of the greenery. It's eyes were yellow, it's skin dark brown. It had two large grey horns. "I-Is that what I think it is...?" Zayla asked, feeling her body shake as fear slowly consumed her. "If you think that is a dragon-" "But dragons don't exist..." "Then explain what is in front of us... it looks like a dragon to me". They both tensed as it raised it's head showing it's full brown scaled body, it drew in a large breath then spread it's huge black wings as it roared. Spit flew at the two before it, then Zayla and Yuki gave a high pitched scream before turning and running, the dragon pursued.
