Today is Boruto's birthday and he's having his party held at The Konoha's Fun Bouncy House. There were a lot of kids running around the place and Boruto seemed to be enjoying himself along with Yusuke. Quit being a wuss Shikadai! Boruto jumped an inch higher. Don't take that crap from him Shiki. Yusuke did the same as Boruto, jumping higher into the air.

The parents sat in the dining area, around the tables, watching the kids jump from a distance. "It'll be 30 days in a few days, how do you wanna tell her?" Sasuke ignored him.

"Hey, dickhead! I'm talking to you." He finally spoke. "Why are you so adamant about telling her? I've gotta good thing going and I don't wanna fuck it up." Naruto shook his head in disapproval. "You better think of some ways to tell her! Because I'm not gonna wait on you to do so." Sasuke tilted his head to the side and tapped his foot in annoyance. "Asshole!"

He placed the number 3 candle on Boruto's birthday cake and when he turned around he saw an old friend of his.

"Oh, hey!"

He greeted her and pulled her in for a friendly hug and gave her a warm smile. "How are you?" He asked her. "I've been fine, and you?" He simpered, "I'm fine but seriously what are you doing here?" She smiled coyly.

"Well, I saw your post on the connect app... and I decided to come, I... uh, brought a present for him too." He gladly took the wrapped-up gift and sat it down with the others, on the gift table. "Oh, excuse me I'm so rude. Sāra this is Sasuke, my best friend, and Sasuke this is Sāra, my old friend."

Sasuke shot him a confusing look before standing up to shake her hand. "Hello, it's nice to meet you." He tried his best not to be awkward. "You too," Naruto smirked when he saw her eyeing him way longer than normal & he studied Sasuke's uncomfortable body language and he was acting... unusual, but then again this was SASUKE UCHIHA.

"Are you gonna hold my hand forever?" Her eyes grew big and she gasped, moving some hair behind her ear and blushing slightly. "Sorry, I apologize."

She laughed it off awkwardly and then Naruto took her hand again, introducing her to more people at the party.

Sasuke went off to the bathroom, leaning on the sink and taking a deep breath.

He washed his hands and looked in the mirror, he knows that he and his wife agreed to keep their marriage open but he wasn't ready to date other women.

He desperately wanted to get back with her but she wasn't ready to have that type of relationship with him again.

After wiping his face with water he gazed into the mirror once more and then he returned to the party. He sat back down and folded his hands, watching his son play in the bouncy houses with an ache in his heart.

Not because of hurt but because of love.
That little boy has no idea how much he cares for him. He doesn't even know the half of it.

The time was 5 and Naruto called Boruto down from the bouncy house so we could sing happy birthday. But the young boy looked around the facility as if he was looking for someone and when he didn't find whoever he was looking for, he told his father that he would rather open his gifts first.

Everyone gathered around the present table to see him open the things he had, the kids exclaimed and clamored in anticipation.

WOW that looks cool! Yusuke complimented Boruto's toys with an exciting expression with a set of wide eyes.

While Boruto was down to his last 2 presents the girl Sāra decided to make a small conversation with Sasuke. "I feel a little out of place since I don't have any children."
She told him ineptly.
