The Doctor narrowed his eyes at her, giving her a stern look.

"You're barmy if you think we're letting you go after him by yourself," he told her, tapping his foot as he tried to think of another way. "It's all of us or none at all, and since he'll probably not leave us alone now, I'd suggest we all get ready for a confrontation." He sighed; it was a tough situation. "Plus, Rose'd kill us both if we left her behind."

Angel looked to The Doctor, tough didn't even begin to describe the situation.
"Doc, Rose would probably be pissed if we dropped her at home all of a sudden and went to find this guy, but I cant have her hurt, or you. I would rather be killed than see you or her hurt. So this is what I'm going to propose, for once, we don't stand and fight, we run, run to the farthest reaches of space and time and wait until this blows over."
The Doctor shook his head.
"Did you not see those kids back there?" he asked, gesturing in the general direction of the town. "They're all terrified; if we leave, who knows what those creatures are gonna do to them! Who knows what they've already done," he mused, his jaw hardening. "We're staying. We've got to; we can't just leave those things to wreck havoc on the town."
Angel sighed, rubbing her head.
"Alright, alright. I know, we don't run away." She moved to her bag, unlatching it, pulling out her sword. "Doctor, if we do this, we have to keep Rose here, in the TARDIS." She looked to him, her golden eyes flashing with determination and anger.

When it came to Rose, the Doctor was torn. Of course he wanted her safe, but he also knew that she sometimes could see things he couldn't, and she'd been more than valuable in several other life threatening situations they'd gotten themselves into. He mulled this over, unhappily coming to the inevitable conclusion: Rose would be coming with them.
"Angel... Rose is coming," he said, and held up his hand to stop her protests. "Hang on, just wait. Rose knows the risks every time she steps out the TARDIS doors. She's smart and she can handle herself..." he sighed, still not pleased. "Plus, are you gonna be the one to tell her she's staying behind?"
"To protect her I would and you know it Doc, but I see your point. Just understand this, if things turn bad, you and Rose are to get yourselves out and not worry about me, clear?"

Angel picked her duster, putting it on and then strapped her sword across her back, placing her staff in her belt loop, fixing her duster. She looked over at the door as Rose came back in.
He rolled his eyes.
"Clear." The joke was on her, there was no way he would ditch anyone in danger. Rose came back into the room and he was suddenly distracted, his senses assaulted by the smell of her strawberry shampoo. Get it together, you idiot, he told himself.
"What's going on?" Rose asked as she pulled up her damp wavy hair into a messy bun.
Angel had to really bite back a chuckle at the Doctor's reaction when Rose came into the room, it was so easy to tell that he was infatuated with her. 'Nice shampoo Rose, now I know what can get the Doctor hard and distracted, even more reason for you to stay here.' She thought.
"We're going after the master of those hooded creatures that attacked us." The Doctor cut straight to the chase, thrusting the distraction to the back of his mind. "We've got to find out what he's been doing to those townspeople to make them so scared, and what made them attack us."

Rose nodded along, her expression turning determined. "Okay, lemme go grab my shoes and I'll meet you in the console room." She darted out of the room before he could protest or explain any further. He sighed, and caught Angel looking at him with an amused expression.
"Oh, shut up." He rolled his eyes at her, and left for the console room.
Angel chuckled, heading towards the console room with him. She waited for Rose, leaning against the console next to The Doctor. Once Rose came in, they headed out, Angel putting on a pair of sunglasses to hide her eyes. They walked through the field towards the village, it was after dark. Angel could smell everything, her senses were always heightened at night.
They walked into the now deserted village, it was quiet, eerily quiet. The three of them stood in the village square, not seeing anything. Angel inhaled deeply, her ear twitching some. She removed her sunglasses, blinking a few times, her eyes adjusting to the dark. One advantage she had, was that she could see in the dark, to her, it was almost like day.

There was a noise to their right and Angel turned, seeing three hooded figures emerge from the alleyway. She growled as they were quickly surrounded, undoing her staff, pulling it out.
Angel pressed the button on her staff and this time she twisted the middle part and there was a slight crack, the staff coming apart into two pieces. She growled, the hooded figures closing in on them, pulling Rose in between her and The Doctor, twirling the two ends of the staff, the figures brandishing their own weapons, clubs, whips, staffs, even a sword. 'I'm not going to become someone's trophy, not now, not ever!' She thought.

Rose clenched her fists, refusing to appear weak next to her superior companions. She let them move in front of her, knowing that pushing back would only cause a distraction they couldn't afford. Her heart was pounding, but she ignored it, instead shooting a glance at the Doctor. He was looking at her, and she gave him a small nervous smile before turning her attention back to the hooded figures coming quickly towards them. Rose moved closer to Angel; right behind her, then turned around to cover their sight from behind them.
"Angel, there's two more this way," Rose whispered urgently as she eyed the other two hooded creatures creating a circle around them.
Angel saw them, growling. One rose his club up and the rest followed, Angel ducking a swipe of one, kicking it away. She was SO not screwing around. Three circled her and she spun her staffs,
"One step closer and you'll be feeling this shoved up your asses!" The one with the sword went after Angel, she dropped her staff quickly and drew hers, it catching the moonlight, Rose seeing it as it came free of the sheath.

Rose's eyes widened at the sword in Angel's grip, but she had other things to worry about. Two of the hooded creatures came at her quicker than she expected, both holding their clubs aloft. Rose ducked as one swiped at her head, then silently doubled over with pain as the other caught her directly in her stomach with his club.
"Rose!" she heard a northern accent yell, but its owner was fighting his own battles. She hit the ground, struggling to breathe, and her fingers grasped the end of Angel's fallen staff. Without thinking, Rose swung it as hard as she could at the hood descending on her and it connected, making a sickening *crunch* sound. Rose scrambled away from the fallen body in horror, gasping for breath.

Angel snarled, running her sword, not just one, but three of the hooded figures, hearing the crunch to right of her, she tossed the three away, seeing Rose with her staff, and the hooded figure. She kept her sword out, moving to Rose and growled, unlatching a throwing axe and launched it at the hooded figure on the roof with an arrow pointed directly at The Doctor's heart.
The axe hit with a sickening crunch and the figure fell forward off the roof. The last hooded figure was on top of The Doctor, hands around his neck. She placed bloodied blade across the figure's neck, speaking in dragon.

"Release him or I spill your blood."
