Chapter 2- the party

Eventually I leave the house. I'm wearing a pair of blue jeans, a white v-neck T-shirt and a black denim jacket. I get to James's house pretty quickly. I sneak a look through the window and can't see Gemma. "Shit" I mummer. I turn around and pull out my phone. Just as I'm about to scroll through instagram I see her. It's a struggle for my eyes not to pop out my head. She's beautiful. Her blonde hair covers one of her eyes a pair of circular glasses pokes out from under her hair as well. She's still wearing a tiny bit of makeup. She's also wearing a blue summer dress and a black leather jacket. She gets to where I'm stood and we kinda just stare at each other for a second before she bursts out laughing. "Hi Gemma" I say. She smiles at me. I smile back. "Hi Alex" she says I open the door and hold it open for her.

We step inside the house and see it's packed. I catch Gemma stareing every now and then. " do you want a drink" I say next to her ear. She nods her head. I wonder over to the kitchen and start grabbing drinks when James stands next to me. "Sooooo Gemma what's going on there" he says. I shake my head. "Don't fucking start. We're just two friends at a party" I say. He nods his head sarcastically. "Just friends at a party huh I saw the looks you two where giving each other" he says. I shake my head. "Come on man you know full well I ain't got a chance" I say. He nods his head. "If you say so" he says. I come back carrying to red cups. "Hey Gemma I kinda guessed what drink you'd want" I say. She chuckles and takes one of the red cups.

She starts to drink from it. When she stops she smiles at me. "You got it spot on" she says. I chuckle. "Really. I got it in one?" I say. She nods her head. "Did James help you?" She says. I see James from the corner of my eye. "Nah I didn't tell him" he says. He's stood millimetres from Gemma and she didn't know he was there. Spooked by James she jumps towards me I catch her trying to steady her and not spill our drinks. Gemma looks up at me her glass aren't covered by her hair now and I can see her beautiful blue eyes looking up at me. "Oh bloody hell get a room you two" James says. Gemma quickly stands up she then gives james the middle finger. "Don't Fucking sneak up on me like that" she says.

James walks away from me and gemma. She turns to me and smiles. "Nice catch" she says. I chuckle. "I was worried your drink would go all over you" I say. She looks down at her dress. She smiles. "I don't see anything on it so I think you did a good job" she says. She then grabs my arm and leads me to a sofa. "So what other books have you read or have you somehow only managed to only read IT and da Vinci code?" She asks me. I chuckle. "Most of the school library" I say. She chuckles. "Fuck off really" she says. I nod my head. She chuckles. It's at this moment that Jack wonders over. He touches Gemma's shoulder as if to get her attention. She sips her drink and then starts talking about other Stephen king books she's read. Jack taps her shoulder again.

At this point Gemma rolls her eyes. "Hey Jack I don't think she wants to talk to you" I say. His attention turns from her to me. "The fuck you gonna do book worm" he says looking me dead in the eye. "Hey I'm just stating facts Jack. Now your kinda interrupting our conversation" I say. He grabs my arm and pulls me off the sofa. "Come on Alex do something then" he says. I stand up and dust myself off. "Dude what the fuck I'm just telling you the truth" I say. He swings for me. I duck under the punch feeling it wisp past my hair. "Fuck" I mutter. He swings for me again. I duck under the punch. He goes for another swing when Gemma stands in his way. "Enough Jack"she says. Jack stops and looks at her. "Your gonna protect this guy" he says. She nods her head. She then twists his finger he drops to his knees. "Ow ow ow" he says. Gemma let's go. "Now fuck off" she says. She then grabs my arm and pulls me outside.
