Tick Tock Tick Tock
The time was moving agonisingly slow. Taehyung paced around the kitchen still connected with Yoongi in his ear, "do you think he's fine," he asked. He heard loud crunches and an obnoxious amount of loud eating through his ear.
Worriedly, he glanced at the clock and back to the door, hallucinations of hearing Jungkook walk in messed with him. His mind playing tricks on the anxious state of his.
"yeah he'll be fine I'm more concerned about the men following him," Yoongi slurped before heaving out air "don't worry, this is normal, honestly you should get used to it." he mindlessly went on.
That didn't seem to ease his worry in the slightest, getting used to this feeling wouldn't be happening any time soon, or ever . Taehyung bit his lip looking through the peephole. "I don't know Yoongi, it was six against one."
"It wasn't six against one, it's six against Jungkook."
"Is he that strong?" he wondered, finally sitting down, letting out a big sigh.
"The strongest, he might not be the tallest but he's built and he's quick," a sudden thud came from the earpiece and a crease of a wrapper soon after, "he's also really clever, knows how to move, observant."
Taehyung knew Yoongi couldn't see him but he still nodded, choosing to stay quiet. He heard the keys being pressed on the lock before he quickly strided towards the door he came from an hour ago.
Jungkook walked in, a half broken broom covered in red peeked through from the bag he held, dry blood crusted on his hands.
"That's my shift over." Taehyung heard through his earpiece and a long beep soon after.
Jungkook looked down and hid the bag behind his legs. A failed attempt at covering the stick. He clenched his teeth and instead dropped the bag in front of him with a loud crash, the broom slowly rolled out between them. He looked down at his feet, "they're not dead" he clarified. He threw his keys on the empty bowl beside him, and took his bloodied jacket off tossing it over the couch, he loosened his tie and unclasped the top three of his buttons.
Taehyung didn't take his eyes off his movements, his eyes wandered down to Jungkook's trembling hands up to his tensed jaw. He finally looked up to Jungkook's eyes, they were empty, looking back at him. His hands were not foreign to the blood tainting them. He walked closer, reached out and wiped the blood off his lip delicately with his thumb.
Jungkook held his breath waiting.
"Are you hurt?" Taehyung asked instead.
Jungkook let out a bitter laugh, but Taehyung's movement didn't falter, he held on to his face softly. Any tighter and he was afraid Jungkook would break. "Did they hurt you?'' he pressed on, stepping a little closer, "are you okay."
Jungkook held on to his hand to pull it down, but instead his body betrayed him and pulled Taehyung closer to him, breathing in his scent. Relief filled his senses, seeing him safe.
tick tock tick tock.
He jolted away from his grasp as if he was burnt. "Don't worry about me," he said, voice flat, "it's an order." He turned his head around to give a last look to the boy, "that's the last thing I need." His steps were heavy as he walked into the bathroom, mere seconds later Taehyung heard the shower running.
Taehyung sat down, his heart thumping in his ear, he looked at his thumb and saw the blood. He took a deep breath and began preparing food for the both of them. He pulled out the first drawer and saw a few plastic utensils, a wooden spoon, one pair of wooden chopsticks and a plastic can opener. He furrowed his brows and pulled the second draw. Empty. He sighed moving on to the cupboard next to his right, a small rusty pot was hidden in the corner, he took it out and placed it on the stove. He tore open two noodle packets, poured the water in the pot, and turned on the stove. The sound of the shower was turned off as the water started boiling. Goosebump rose over his arms, the crisp air of the cold hit his skin, he walked over to the radiator and placed his palm on the surface.
